Spring rate help

I'm currently running ohlins DFV's with eibach ERS 10k springs front and rear. I'm now expecting my first kid and was wondering if anyone had any feed back for a lower spring rate. I was wondering at what point do I need to have my struts/shocks revalved. If I went down to 8k would I still be ok or would I be over damped. I will still be doing a few autocross events here and there a some track days so I don't want to go too low but any recommendations will help. This is not a daily driver by the way but I would like the option to put my kid and not have him/her cry everytime i take a drive. Thanks in advance

The default for those is 10/7. Were they revalved for 10k rears?

In any event, those are nicely digressive in bump and the rebound is adjustable. I'd say that you could drop back to 7/6 or 7/5 with stock valving and be fine. Plus, cranking up the rebound is the best way to help under-sprung cars turn. That's autocrossing 101. So, when the kid isn't in the car, you could still enjoy yourself.

ps. my first child was put to sleep by riding in an over-sprung (Street Mod) 2G DSM; maybe your child will be the same and enjoy the current set-up

Thanks for the info, had them rebuilt about 5k miles ago and was hoping to not have to do it again so it sounds promising. I'll prob pick up some 8k's just to be safe and swap them out if the baby shows signs shaken baby syndrome

Sounds good. The key that makes this work is that, if the shocked were properly valved for 10k springs, they won't have a ton of compression, because, as you up the springrates, you also move more of the damping from bump to rebound. Thus, because rebound can be turned down (and bump damping isn't all that high for the reason just given), you can back off the shocks and be fine with softer springs.

You'll be fine with 8k springs.
