Bilstein PSS10

Does anybody have feedback about the Bilstein PSS10 coilovers on the EVO X? I see them listed on TireRack but haven't really found reviews on them on the EVO X.

I saw a webpage of someone who installed it in Japan... buy unfortunately that entire webpage was in Japanese.

If they're just the next version of the PSS9, then I wouldn't be too hopeful. Why Bilstein even makes a shock with a single bleed adjuster is beyond me. But, then again, I still don't get why Porsche makes an SUV.

They're quality, definitely better than any of the Chinese "pick your color" junk.

Yeah, my post comes across rather badly, because it doesn't include my default feelings about Bilsteins. What I meant, especially when you note the parallel to Porsches, is that these aren't up to Bilstein's usual standards, assuming that they are like PSS9s. The PSS9s aren't much better than OE MR Bilsteins and the adjuster affects rebound and bump at the same time, so they aren't really "tunable," either. I'd go higher, if you have the money. I'm not hopeful that these will good entry-level coilover.

PSS10's use a completely different adjuster than the older PSS9s (that a lot of people complained about).

Still a 1 way with rebound and compression together, but a lot more predictable. I haven't been able to try them and haven't seen any dynos yet though.

Probably the most popular of our Bilstein products. They run right alongside KW's Variant line. Either way you really can't go wrong.

Glad to hear (and not surprised) that Bilstein responded to the complaints about PSS9s. Everyone should ignore all that wrote above with regard to the PSS10s.

I can answer that. The money Porsche makes selling sedans and SUV's they can use to develop the 911 Turbos, GT2s, GT3s and 918's that we all love.

That's what I'm hoping for. I've had Bilstein products in the past and they've been good. I've read reviews from the Porsche, Audi and BMW guys on PSS10's and they love them. It just sucks that I can't see reviews for the EVO X!

And yeah.. I'm not gonna ride on the "cheap Chinese junk"!

What's wrong with the OEM Bilstein struts? And what makes you think the PSS10's are not good coils? Is it because they don't allow the level of adjustment you look for in coils?

Almost nothing. The OE Billies from an MR are some of the best OE shocks on any car made.

As you know from reading the thread before adding four replies, my comments against PSS10s were based on the false assumption that they were a tweaked version of PSS9s. The latter I don't like because the ratio of rebound to bump is too low; the adjuster affects both at once, so this cannot be fixed; and the adjuster was inconsistent from one shock to the next and highly non-linear. You pretty much had to have PSS9s revalved before using them, at least for a 2G DSM.

Bilstein is nice and all, but you can add 500 bucks and get some JRZ's... when you're already spending 2500, 500 isn't all the much more IMHO

a little late to the thread but I had a set of PSS10's on my E46 M3 and they were great. I had pss9 and pss10 and the 10's were hands down better. Not even a comparison.
