How big of wheels?
"How big" as in width or diameter?
And it's the tires that hit the fender, not the wheels. The issue with wheels is clearing the brakes, along with having the correct offset to center the tires between the shocks and the fenders.

There should be plenty of threads here with that info but you will have to dig a bit. For the most part a 255 width tire on a corresponding wheel will fit without any rolling of fenders. You start seeing rolling of fenders(almost always the rear fenders) when you go to 265 width , and especially offsets under +22. A 275 with wheel you are guaranteed to roll the rears and almost always the fronts as well. Hope this helps.

From my research any wheel that sticks out more than 25mm from stock could begin to pose a problem with greater than a true 255 tire . Remember you need to look at actual tire width and not just the size written on the sidewall. Ride height and camber can effect things as well.

I think you mean width, not diameter. Tires are always almost exactly the stated diameter. It's the tread-width that varies across tires with the same stated sidewall width.
