You left out how one plus one is two.

Actually 2 is really 1.999_, but that's as unrelated as your 1+1=2 statement. I'm sure you know this, but wheel strength has a parabolic graph in relation to price. The more you pay doesn't directly translate into more strength, and the less you pay doesn't directly translate into less strength. But without going into so much math and metallurgy, Rotas will stand up to potholes *almost* as well as Volks, and Volks will crack/bend/break when they hit obstacles at a high enough speed just like Rotas. The additional marginal amount of speed/force those higher-end wheels stand up to is not applicable for DD, which the OP and most people drive.

If by "performance" you mean "doing their job" then I agree. [See, also, the comment about the sum of two ones.]

Actually, by performance I mean weight, as well as performing consistently in a high-demanding environment such as motorsports, hence the use of the word "performance" and not "doing their job."

And for the sake of keeping this on topic, @OP XXR's will stand up to most of the potholes you'll encounter, but try to avoid them like you would with any other wheel And of course, there are those road hazards that will damage wheels, XXR's or higher quality wheels like Volks.

So based off of your personal experience, you can say no Braid wheel will hit a curb and crack/bend/break?

I don't question that they're great wheels, or that your experience with them has been anything but great, but I used to follow WRC and JWRC religiously, and although I'm not positive that they use Braids specifically, but they do use rally wheels on the better end of the wheel spectrum, and there's a high number of failures from impacts (low and high speed). They break just like any other wheel.

Dont know.. Did alot of research and couldnt find it. Theres a ton of room around the brakes but i cant say for sure. I was in the same boat as you and was scared to go wider cause i didnt really think there was a point, but just sucked it up snd bit the bullet and they look and fit flush with the fenders im really happy with them .

I like these wheels. Looks nice. I really don't wanna go wider than 9.

It depends on the spoke design, but most likely yes.

However, is there a reason you're not going wider?

Same question. I was scared to go to a 9.5 too but literally there are zero issues with the 9.5 with stock size tires

Well, this car is my daily and I'll never mod it much. There will be some minor bolt on and a tune in its future. The stock wheels are 8.5s and to me they look fine. I'd probably go 9 but I don't see the point of going wider. I will probably go smaller for winter tires though. Got 245s on the stock wheels right now, but 235 or even 225 would be better.

Same with me man. Its my daily and i have my kids in it alot. Ill never do more then an exhaust, intake and IC pipes. If there were any issues like having to roll the fenders or anything i wouldnt have done it. Its not any different. But do what you want, just letting u know
