Eibach Multi-pro R2 Questions

I just picked up a set of these coils from the marketplace and they look really cool but I have a couple of questions as I am new to the coilover world.

FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SURE TO BE CLEAR THAT I AM NO IMPLYING THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THESE OR COMPLAINING ABOUT ANYONE. I AM A SUSPENSION N00B AND WANT TO MAKE SURE THINGS ARE RIGHT BEFORE I INSTALL.

Ok, as you can see in the pics below, the helper springs are fully compressed and installed at the top. I have never seen this configuration and wondered if someone can tell me if that is ok before I install.

That is normal. The helper springs will only expand at full droop (wheel extended downward from car). They are only there to keep the springs from unseating in that condition. They have an extremely low spring rate so the main spring over powers them and compresses them in most situations.

and its normal to see them installed on the top? just seems like it wouldnt be compressed like that OFF the car...that said the coil perches are currently set pretty high so it would make sense that the main coil would be compressing the helper.

It is normal to see them on the top. Loosen the lower spring perch and back it off (increase the distance between the top hat and lower perch). Once you remove enough preload from the system then the helper spring will decompress.

You will love these suspension. Not many people have them. But my racer buddies that are die hard trackers recommended them. Make sure you get a good alignment and corner weight/balance to get the best of them. I run full soft for the streets. =D

I installed them this past weekend and I like them so far. I need to dial them in a little. I have them set Mid-soft on compression and a little softer on rebound. I think I need to stiffen the rebound a little.

Question... Im getting a little bit of bounce, like when I come to a hard stop, the car sorta "jiggles" for a second. Is this normal due to the stiffer spring rates than what I am accustomed to (this is my first set of coils) or do I need to adjust something?

With your helper springs compressed all the way when the dumpers are fully extended, they serve no purpose at all, besides having extra weight in there! If you would remove them and raise your perch for that length (looks like less than an inch from the pictures).

Since you already installed them on the car, I would leave them be, but next time you take them off, you could remove them.

Once you start to drop the car a bit and you get some play in them when fully unloaded, than they will start to have some effect in keeping the main spring in place with no clunking noise!
