ABS Pump Problem!

Hey guys,
So after I changed my clutch in San Francisco after a quick trip from Az, the traction control light turned on "ASC OFF" and "Service Required" popped out on the screen. I took my car to the stealer ship and left my car there. I checked back the next day and they told my that the problem was from the ABS pump. To change the ABS pump in the dealer ship it would cost me nearly $2600. The price was ridiculously high! I tried looking for the ABS pump on ebay and I found them for approximately $200. I thought that before I order them I should take a look for other options. I am in Az for nearly 8 months and I never had any mechanical issue since then. Anyone can help me with my problem and also if anyone here knows a good places for fixing evos just mention it I will be thankful.

By the way, my car is an Evo 08 GSR

I am not sure but I believe there was another member here that had this same issue and was fixed very cheap. And he posted that it was not the pump. Do some searching. If you cannot find it I will search when I get home tonight. I believe all he did was reset something. Again not sure but he posted something like this trying to help other members from getting taken to the cleaners at the Stealership. Oh and welcome to the forum.

Thanks budd, but I think that my problem cannot be solved by just resetting a thing. Anyhow I'll be looking for answers in the forum!

Before anything else, make sure that the car is not also throwing a wheel-speed sensor code. If the clutch was changed in the usual way, there's a chance that the right front wheel-speed sensor is damaged or the wire is broken. That will shut down the ABS. The odds of the ABS pump, itself, dying at the same time that a clutch is replaced is quite low. Much more often the issues after a clutch replacement are wheel-speed sensors and/or ACD bleeding.

Oops. Maybe I'm still in the DSM mind-set. Left front wheel on our cars, eh?
