High-Speed Vibration
High-Speed Vibration
Hi guys, this has been driving me nuts and don't know where to go from here. The original problem was a steering wheel/seat/rearview mirror vibration at 60-65. I figured it was due to my bent rims and old all-season tires. I replaced all 4 wheels (TRMotorsport C2), new summer tires (Michelin Pilot Super Sport), new rotors (Stoptech Slotted) and break pads (Stoptech Street Performance). Had the tires road forced and wheel alignment is perfect. Still vibration persists so I finally took it to the dealer. First dealer said there was absolutely no problem and that they couldn't duplicate the vibration (bs considering they didn't even wanna drive the car up to 50). Second dealer said it was the right front and rear bearing hub assembly. They replaced both under warranty and this solved the seat/rearview mirror vibration. But I'm still having a problem with steering wheel vibration which is now felt at 75-80. Any thoughts/suggestions on what it could be? I remember when I could do 120 and it was smooth as butter. Arrgh good times...
Sorry forgot to add, but the shop where I had it road forced thought it had something to do with the tires. But even with the tires removed, the car vibrates, specifically the rear right axle which is why they told me to take it to the dealer. Mitsubishi kept my car for 2 days for diagnosis and their conclusion was bad right side bearings.
