Tire Suggestions

Hey guys,

I am looking to get a set of tires.
I am looking for 275/35-18. I am looking for a set that is under $800 for all 4 tires.

I won't be doing much track (if any this year) so just spirited driving and regular commute style of driving is what I will be doing.

The two tires I have in mind are:
Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 -- $740
BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 -- $700

Any other suggestions?

Thanks guys.

Those two are probably your best options for the price range. The BFG is an excellent tire and would be my first choice. Zero complaints on those and they are a tad cheaper. Hankook would be happier in a track environment, but still not as good as an extreme summer tire in that instance.

Bridgestone RE760. $692 on tire rack. I have these tires on my car now. Quieter than the BFG's, and about equal grip. I've had v12's, and I feel they really just don't have the grip..

I would recommend Falken 453 since your not tracking your car. It has good grip, quiet ride, beefy side walls, and tread rating good for 30k miles (depending on your driving style of course.) I ran Falken 453- 255/35/18 and was very happy. On my second set.

Online tires sells them for $175 each/$700 set for 275/3518.

The Potenza I ran before on my WRX, they are loud and get louder when the tread is worn.

Give Federal EVO595 a try if you can find them. They have really grip, under 200 tread rating and can be tracked. For your size you can get those for about $750 a set. My buddy tracks and DD on EVO595 and 595RSR for his Miata.

Best attribute would be value and grip.

re760's are dead quite on my car, and the 5 other Evo's that run in them Vegas group. Not sure what problem you had with them, or if you have a different Potenza model.

You literally cannot beat these tires for the price. The 595 evo will have better wear than the 595 rsr, but the rsr will have way more grip.

I'd buy the 595 evo, great tires especially for the price.
