Problem re installing rear strut with new gtworks spring

Hi I am in the process installing GT Works lowering springs.
I installed the front struts with the springs easily with no problems.

However I cannot get the rear struts to align with the holes behind the rotor.

Its as if the strut got longer or something?

Has anyone ever ran into this problem?

Any input would help, I really want to find out what I did wrong.

Thanks

P.S. this is my first time installing springs.

It does take some pushing/tugging to line those back up, if you can get them close enough to slide a small screwdriver in there then you can use it to kind of pry them together.

Did you disconnect the sway bar?

Yea I did, I just showed that pic to show exactly what I was talking about.

I can align the strut if I really move the hub around however it moves the hub/rotor to a position where the sway bar cannot reach it.

Am I just doing this wrong? Or did I mess up somewhere with the reassembly?

I hate the rears so much "/

I never disconnected the sway bar when I did mine, I did however have to use a jack to lift the rear arm a little to help get it to line up.

The rear strut is sitting lower than the hub at the moment so should I try and should I try and lower the hug to align it? I'll take better photos tomorrow "/

Either the spring isnt seated fully in the perch which I doubt is the case since that is pretty obvious as to how it sits especially in the rear or you just need to push down on the rear suspension to get it to lower some more. Sometimes it can be a little stiff especially if the sway bar is connected as you may need to push up on both knuckles at the same time. Don't give up you got this!

if anyone runs into the same problem in the future, an easy way to do it without a helping hand is to use a jack to raise the strut into place. careful doing this not to knock your car off jack stands, but it shouldn't be an issue, spring should just compress that inch or so pretty easily
