Alright everybody, I did some research on this already and couldn't find a definitive answer to my question. I currently have a set of 18x10.5 +22 wheels and no tires. Most people run a 275/35 tire on a 10"/10.5" wheel from what I understand, but I would really like to go with a 285/35 tire as I think that looks the best on a 10.5" wheel. My question is what will need to be done to make this setup work? I would have rather bought 10" wheels but the deal on these was too good to pass up.
Current setup:
-Ohlins DFV Coilovers, dropped about 1.75"
-Rear fenders rolled and slightly pulled, front is untouched
-Camber front: -2.3 degrees, camber rear: -1.8 degrees
I'm hoping that I won't have to remove front fender liners, otherwise I'll just run a 275/35

This change your making is pretty aggressive, even for the X. Heres your layout compared to stock. Your new setup will poke 41.4mm further (1.62")
The EvO front is very forgiving but as you noted, liner rub is inevitable. Im sure the X has similar electrical lines that run above the liners, so removing them completely is not good. Those lines must be protected
My concern is the rears. You noted they are rolled & slightly pulled. Not sure that is going to be enough. The rear bumper bolt will have to be relocated as well. Again, im not well versed w/the X vs CT9A. I do know the X has a bit more well (front & rear)
You really need to pull the rear tire, disconnect the rear sway bar, remove the strut & do a test fit. The test will be to push the new tire / wheel into the well & check your clearance. You should dial in approx -1.8 degree of rear camber before you check
Heres a pic of mine fitting up 275's. We removed the strut, disconnected the RSB & pushed the wheel into the well. Rolling, pulling, rear bumper bolt & a few other tricks needed to fully clear
275/35's already rub the fender liner in the front a bit. 285/35's are going to suck for front fitment, they're wider and taller. 4% off on the speedometer isn't a big deal.
If you think of it in terms the Evo8/9 a 285/30 is actually easier to fit than a 275/35 due to the 285/30 being shorter. On a X, it will be similar with a 285/35 vs a 285 or 295/30.
I've only put these fitment on a few EvoX's (all except the 285/35 because it won't fit) before so you have input from someone that knows what they're talking about. Do with it what you wish.
So I may have made a bad decision and bought 285/35 Michelin PS4S. The rear clears perfectly after cutting out bumper cover mount tab.
However, front rubs slightly (as everyone predicted) on the fender liner towards the front where it screws into the fender. Otherwise, I was able to mold the fender liners enough so they don't rub when turning at full lock. I'm also running the whiteline ALK which gives more caster so that could be why I'm rubbing towards the front. I'll see if I can get that fixed.
Otherwise 285/35 isn't that bad to fit, running a more negative offset, such as +15 or lower, would cause some more serious issues.
