Car lowering question

Dear Forum,

I have a 2010 Evo X and I'm looking at possibly lowering it since there are many black Friday deals going on. The car (suspension) is completely STOCK right now. I have the OEM GSR wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on (245 / 40ZR18) it. I am looking to go with lowering springs and wheel spacers. My questions are:
1. What is the MAXIMUM drop I can get with lowering springs (front and back) WITHOUT having to roll my fenders? Keep in mind I want to put 20mm spacers on it as well. I am only looking for about a 1 - 1.5 inch drop.
2. Any suggestions on shock/spring combos? I am still on my stock shocks/struts (70,000 miles) and I know that putting lowering springs on the car will speed up the deterioration of my stock suspension so I may as well put on new shocks/struts when I install the lowering springs as well.
3. Are there any other items I need to consider when doing this? Can I just have these springs installed and have an alignment and I'm good or are there other things I need to purchase?

I am just looking for a little more aggressive look. I will not be tracking at all. ANY help you can provide would greatly be appreciated.

Thank You,

Lando

RICH3389,

Thanks for the reply. How much (front and back) did the Swift Springs lower your car? Did you need anything other than an alignment? How is the ride quality now? Better, same, or worse than stock?

A Roll centering kit, White-line makes one, will make a huge difference in the handling and feeling of the vehicle once Lowered. It corrects all the ball joint angles.
I couldn't believe the difference. Highly recommend it.

Thanks for info. Is this something I can have ANY mechanic do?

It was about an inch lower...I personally did not do anything besides an alignment, however I'm sure improvement can be made with other parts...ride quality is similar to stock just a tad stiffer and handling is great, less body roll too.

You may need a ball joint press to pop the lower ball joint out.
lots of auto stores rent or loan them out.
the tie rods are straight forward.
You will need an alignment ASAP.

I did mine in the drive way. Took maybe 90 mins. Basic hand tools work the ball joint press kit.
