Adjusting offset of wheels?

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm fairly new to the car scene and just started learning about wheel fitment and offset.

I was wondering if it's possible to adjust the offset of my stock BBS wheels to a more positive offset so it sits flush with the fenders?

Sure, the offset can be adjusted by adding wheel spacers. The stock X wheels are the following: 18x8.5 +38 offset, Center Bore 67.1

Search the forum as this has been done many times. You will have to decide, based on tire size & rear fender fit, whether to run a 10mm,15mm or 20mm spacer

Thanks for the info.
I thought that i might need spacers but unfortunately I just found out recently that wheel spacers are illegal here in Australia

Yeah, we try to play by the rules but i live in the states, specifically Calif which is one of most **** states in this fine union

I have had to break the rules on many occasions to enjoy this car hobby. Spacers are a mod that really cant be seen & unless you were in an accident where the spacer was involved unlikely anyone would ever know

Is a neat aid in visualizing fitment.

I know it's not something that will be noticed so I'm considering doing it but like you said if I ever get into an accident it might get noticed then and I worry about my insurance companies not covering me.

It makes me sad to think how true that is.
