I've recently had got my new wheels(18, 10.5) and had my rear fenders rolled so the wider wheels wouldn't hit.
A couple of days ago I adjusted the coilovers and lowered the car just a bit(25mm).
Today whist driving I noticed a bang while I was turning a corner a bit faster than usual. I noticed it again when I turned the corner onto my street.
I suspect the bang noise is the rear tyre hitting something.
What can I do to solve this issue?
I'd like to still keep it at the hight it is currently at.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
First you should check to see if there is any indication of rubbing from tyre and guard (to confirm it is infact rubbing), then you need to increase your negative camber through a simple alignment.
Do you know what your alignment is right now? how many degrees of negative camber are you running? If you are at say -1.5 deg, bump it up to -2deg and see if that solves the problem. Don't go too high on the rear camber (max I would say -2.5 degrees for a street evo) but it also depends how much driving you do and how fast you want to go through tyres. rotate your tyres front to back every 5,000 miles etc.
For my EVO I run 11" rims and very aggressive offset, I had custom panel ork to push my panel out far and resprayed the car (you will lose paint if you take my approach). Now mine looks nice and wide and like factory wihtout the ugly wide body kit on.
I could run a 12" rim if I want with the space I have , instead I use 11" rim with spacers on an aggressive offset (I think +12 or is it +15)
