If you can afford it, buy a new one and save yourself the hassle.

If you buy one in December, make sure you have money to buy all-season or snow tires immediately.

I think that the EVO is the only car that you should buy new. proper Break in appears to be very critical to this car. The drive train/engine sheds lots of metal the first couple thousand miles. The updates on the 05 make the drivetrain more durable. don't forget that the 100k/10yr applies to the 1st owner only. It will be hard to find a owner that did not drive the car hard.

If you can be sure the car was broken properly and not abused I would say get the used one and use the leftover money for any mods that you would like to do.

i just got my evo 2 months ago, an 04, i shoulda just bought a new one that already had mods, cause thast what im doin right now, i coulda saved some money 8- ( Plus my warranty is **** anyway since im gonna add stuff. Just make sure you find a good used one that hasn't been raced much or drove hard. If they said they haven't ever raced or driven it hard once before, they are lying, cause its an evo!!!!!!! But yea, thats my advice, I woulda got the mr but the extra 6-7 grand for it was to damn much. Also if you dont have that much money and dont wanna take chances, and dont care bout that new differentials, just grab the brand new 05 gs-r, its bout 30 k msrp
