FCD k3 type help!

FCD k3 type help!
Does anyone know what setting the HKS k3 FCD should be on an EVOVIII?
I called HKS, and they never tested it on an EVO. I also heard that these friendly FCDs cause you to run lean - will this happen at 19psi boost? My mods are basic; custom cat-back, K&N typhoon, greddy e-01, turboXS BOV, and an uninstalled FCD which I bought to get rid of a violent jerk when I tried to boost above 18 and bogging at high rpm's when I boosted under 18. Has anyone else experienced a jolt at high boost? Is this detonation? Please help me, I have only 2 weeks to live!!!
