Lemme see...it rides very stiff, it's a money pit even for scheduled maintenance, brakes, and tires, you will need a new clutch, and on top of that it's a cop magnet.

BOTTOM LINE IS:
you won't have enough money to afford it being in college unless you have rich parents or a well paying job.
Other reasons:
1. Stiff ride
2. Insurance rates since you are under 25 (I assume)
3. Gas consumption
4. Expensive replacement parts and they do wear quickly
5. Expensive to purchase period (relatively speaking)
6. Potential for tickets goes up with the car

It all boils down to money. If you have it go for it .... if you don't stay away ..... that is my advice. Just my 2C ......

Like a lot of people here already mentioned, the cost of ownership of the EVO is pretty high compared to "regular" cars.

As a college student, I wouldn't want to have such a financial burden. I'd wait til after college to get one. In the meantime, use your money for beer and parties!!

so i need you to give me all the reasons why i shouldnt by a evo8
i already know most of the benefits and considering you folks own one - i think you know the best.
Others have posted already:

1 kind of expensive to buy
2 expensive to own, operate, insure
3 noisy, stiff ride
4 kind of juvenile image
5 absolute temptation to speed
most important:
It'll ruin your life because you never be satisfied with the performance of most cars and you'll end up fruitlessly chasing for better handling, faster cars and you'll only find them at several times it's price.... It's a road of no return, once you buy an EVO you are doomed

I like the post "IT SPOILES YOU ON PERFORMANCE" you'll need more mods to go faster. or deeper pockets to get a faster car.

finish college first. What's it going to cost you for the monthly car payment & insurance?

Where are you going to park it at school?

If it breaks, can you afford to fix it if the warrentee is denied?

I'll give you my 2 reasons:

1. Too expensive
2. I couldn't afford it

So I bought a Ralliart, or what I now affectionately call: EVO lil' BRO!
