ok....need some help with laws...
ok recently I was pulled over by a cop...i wasn't doing anything illegal like speeding or anything so of course I was perplexed..anyway long story short, that @#($*&@#(*&$ cop gave me a ticket for supposedly having illegal parts installed on my car and i'm supposedly driving an illegal car...ok i pretty much have only intake and turbo timer installed and i've been told by everyone that they're perfectly legal...so im suppose to call this place and get it inspected and crap...um...wtf?
anyone got into a similar situation?

i really think he had no idea wtf he was doing (he was young)...for instance, he was pointing to my exhaust and said "thats aftermarket huh" and i was jus like -_-;; "no..its stock..."...and it was going back and forth...then he told me to pop the hood (someone told me cops dont have the right to search under the hood) so i did and he was asking around...then he finally checked my interior and landed on turbo timer so i think he was accuing me of having the tt installed or something...
In no way, in any state is a TT illegal... Dumb *** cops. A good idea is to keep the detailed sticker with options and standard equipment from your window in your glove box for this exact reason. This way you won't get those "Whail Tail" or "Blue Headlight" tickets. It wouldn't surprise me if the cop just wanted to take a look at your car (reason for him to ask to see under the hood) hell he may have not even filed the ticket with the court system, just wanted to give you a hard time. The cop has to specifically identify the illegal equipment in question. Just take your window sticker to court, and don't worry about the TT, maybe just bring proof that it is for fact a TT instead of something else. my 2 cents. and good luck.
whats your location?open element filters are not legal in cali.(i think)they dont have right to search anywhere w/out proper and just suspicion(loud blow-off,flame spewing exhaust, nos tank in full view)but when you give consent they dont need that
fight it bro good luck, was it a fine? or referee station check?

if the cop didnt look in the hood you could put the stock parts on and take a picture and take the window sticker(from the dealer) of your car to the court and fight the ticket and no the t.t. is street legal as long as it block your view of the street(front glass). but i never live in cali. thats my 2cents.
The cop had to have some sort of reasonable suspicion that you did something illegal. If your exhuast appeared modified, that would have been enough to pull you over. If you did not have front plates and that is what the cop saw first, then that is enough. You would have to argue that the exhuast was stock and it should not be considered illegal just because it is big. Now looking under the hood. that is a different story because it sounds like you consented.
cali laws..intake
What intake do you have? K&N is 50 state smog legal and usually come with a carb sticker for proof. If you don't have it switch to it if you have to see the referee and you will be fine. I know how it feels. I've been pulled over in my EVO with nothing done to it and got hassle. They see the stock carbon wing and rear lights and automatically think free-bee ticket. This sounds just as bad as that whale tail thread. Where in Cali?
Man, Cali may be beautiful, but sounds like anti-fun when it comes to cars.
Make sure your file a complaint against the police department and the officer in question. It is his job to enforce the law, not make it up as he goes along.

Yea I live in the bay area of california and cops are a pretty strict and a pain. I got pulled over a couple of times when my evo was still stock, and was asked a lot of questions. The cops seem to CAn't get it through their head that.. the EVO comes well equipped STOCK... and that the exhaust... is STOCK!
