Lightbulb Top Speed

Hi there...I just want to ask who has driven their Evo to it's full potential. I have been following this forum even before I bought my Evo. It seems to me that everyone in here is just interested in stupid street racing and 1/4.....Fine there is nothing wrong with 1/4 every now and then but I want to know who in here had the courage to keep the Evo between 140-150 MPH for at least 1/2 hour or more. The reason I am asking this is I want to know if my car could last at these speeds for this long with Stage 1,2,3 installed.

One other thing: I really don't care how you put it, but it seems to me that there are many people in here that don't know what they are talking about and also how to drive. I can't believe that there are people in here that actually loose to BMW M3, Mercedes and bla bla bla. I would trully be not show my face in public if I lost to any of these cars. Especially after any minor tunning is done to this car. I had a BMW M3 95 and the new Volvo S60R. Neither one of these cars can stand a chance against my Evo even when it was stock. So please stop the complaining and learn to drive. So many Trany and TC blown.... It's not Mitsubishi...... It's you all that Don't know how to drive. Stop blaming Mitsubishi and take some driving classes.....

Thank YOU!!!!!

If you really want to take the Evo to the full potential then go to the track! It takes no skill to go 140mph! Top speed is not the Evo's forte.

Where do you think you live, Germany?

You bought the wrong car if this was your goal

and you think driving schools teach you how to drag race or hold down the gas pedal for 30 minutes? have you ever road raced? autocrossed? if not how do you know your such a hot driver? go race in a real track and be humbled then you will realize no one is born a good driver, you learn to be.

thats just a retarded comment.....

yes the car is a brick on wheels when it comes to aerodynamics.....but there are a few of us on the board that are into top speed.... personally me and my evo 8 are trying our best to hit 200mph....almost there....and there is a member JUNEVO who has a evo7 that has done 213mph.....

now im not saying this is possible out of the box orr with some minor mods...but after ALOT of money and modification it can be done....

of course it is never safe to drive 200mph on a public road but there are events that cater to top speed .... check out www.texasmile.com www.silverstateclassic.com and good luck.

The Evo is not good at everything...

i understand that.......and i wasnt trying to pick a fight i was just saying that everyone "builds" there individual car based on there tastes.... personally i think that drag racing an evo is silly and being a roadracer at heart i love taking a 4x turn at over 100mph..... i do agree there are lots of cars that are better performers over 100mph....thats a given. i mena im not comparing the evo to a 360modena or anything... just saying it is possible to do ...and exciting to say that i will be able to do it with a much smaller investment than purchasing a italian supercar,,,.......

duh.....i mean have you ever tried to jump it ?.....

I am a road racer at heart too and I agree with you about drag racing. I respect what you are doing and understand it. I was just defending my "retarded" statement

Not intentionally
