Question Anyone Driven a Dodge SRT-4?

I was wondering if anyone has driven or ridden in a dodge SRT-4. I'm curious on how thy feel compared to the evo power wise. Does the boost give you as much of a rush as the Evo?

I had one, swore a few years back I'd never own another fwd. But this little sucker is one mean car for the money and they adapt very well to mods, that stock block and head are unbelievable..........for the money go for it. Comparing it to an evo is not even close, you're talking about a totally different animal. Remember, u get what u pay for............

A stock Evo, yeah maybe. If u launch any turbo fwd car hard u will spin most of first and part of second. Like I said for the money they are fun, but dont think you will be the Evo-killer with it because u will be real disappointed

Does the turbo spool up quickly and what rpm do you start to feel it?

#1 10-12k price tag diference (GSR)

#2 AWD vs. FWD (Once you go AWD, there is no going back)

Both cars are a lot of fun, the Evo is far better for many reasons, for the budgeted performance person the SRT4 is by far the best on the market...for me the RS = cheap, for some the civic EX is cheap..all in perspective...great cars in both....get what fits your budget, you will not regret either!

the nw region of this forum did a run a few weeks back, we invited a bunch of guys that had them to come. about 25 cars showed in all and about 14 of them were srt-4's. it was first time to even really see one on the road, the guys that had them were all super nice, and cool, but they couldnt hold a candle to our evo's. 5 of which showed up. it was a fun run, up a windy, twisty mountain road. in the end, i cant comment on roll speed, or handling, but for the buck, they are/what seems to be, the best bang.

A good friend of mine has one and I've driven it. The EVO gives a much better "rush" feeling (due to AWD & more HP) compared to the SRT4. I took my friend for a ride in my car lastnight, and he though it felt slightly faster in a straight line. EVO wins in the twisties hands down, and the EVO has power windows in the rear instead of cranks. BTW, the SRT feels like it has more torque, but a bit less boost. It seems to balance the two differences in the SRT and EVO.

I own a 03 SRT-4 with 300whp and love it to death. However on the other hand i am also buying an EVO to go along with it. i love the pulling power, especially on the freeway. Downshifting into fourth on the freeway is a rush

My friend has one and I've ridden in it and it has some kinda pull for a lil neon. Not sure about from a stop, but he down shifted at 60 and floored it and we got to about 100 in no time flat. I was pleasantly surprised. Haven't ridden in an Evo yet so I really can't compare the two.

I have ridden in a 450 hp corvette and the SRT-4 doesn't quiiiiite have the same amount of pulling power...

I drove an SRT-4 last weekend (car shopping for a friend who ended up getting an Evo). It was an 04 with the LSD. That car is great fun! It still spun the front wheels like crazy especially coming off corners (and I didn't beat on it that bad). I would never trade my Evo for it, and it would make up the difference in price through front tires, I would probably eat a set every 3k miles if I had that car!

Best bang for the buck, definately. Better than an Evo, no way! I reckon that on a highway roll a stock SRT-4 would be slightly quicker than a Stock Evo (at least an '03 which is what mine is). In every other situation it would lose.

The rush you get when boost comes on is nothing like the Evo, but I think that is because the power isn't as flat at low rpm like the Evo engine is.

If anyone hasn't test drove one yet, do it, it's a blast!!
