Well to tell you the truth the SRT-4 would probably hardly walk by the Evo even if the Evo is Stock. I ran my best time with my 2004 Evo absolutely stock about 12.9 - 13.0 1/4 about 5 times in a row. I raced against a Stage 2 Tunned Srt-4 and I got him by about 2 cars. Guys I have been selling cars for about 4 years. I sold Volvo, BMW, Toyota and American crap cars. To tell you the truth. The Srt-4 would never stand a chance against the M5, M3 especially Volvo S60 T5 or Volvo S60R. The Srt-4 might take them to 60 but after that it would get raped. I have been driving those cars and let me tell you they move. When I got into the Srt-4 seriously I felt like I got into a tree house. Very ugly feeling and sound and everything else. I wanted to buy one to use for everyday better and after I took a test drive I changed my mind. The quality sucks. The way it handles suck big time. The acceleration is nothing to brag about. It's not even close to being like a Evo. Like I said I had the chance to buy it but choose not to.

As far as an Srt-4 with stage 3 beeting and Evo ? Ha ha I would love to see them try me. The only thing we need to do to our cars, is change exhaust and put it a mbc and it's over.

Also listen to this; this is real man. When I worked at the dealer they sent us to training school once every 2 months to learn about new products and all that crap..... Did you guys know that the most restricted cars out on the road are the Japanese cars. You guys maybe didn't know, but those are are restricted the most. European cars are second. The American cars are not restricted at all. They lie like dogs when they say that ohh this Buick or Vette is governed at this speed. Bull ****.. they can't go any faster because they where built like crap.... Also all American cars are built to last you 3 years, after that they are ment to break down in stages. Every month it will be something new. Americans don't make any profit on their cars. Only when they service them. The reason I am telling you all this is to inform you of the crap you see out there on the market by Americans. Even if they made a 1000 hp Neon or Vette or what else they want to call it; it will never be built like the Imports....... At least not on this planet or universe. Enjoy your Evo people and remember drive smart, because the street are fillind with idiots......

Over the summer...couple of my friends and I were playing basketball...well...one of my friend's friend drives a mopar stage 1 srt-4. When he saw my evo, my friends sti, my other friend's modded wrx...he started to talk a lot of trash. he swears that he ran all those car at the track and he ran circle around them. After we balled...my friend with the modded wrx couldn't stand him anymore...so they decided to do a lil straight away run...the outcome was my friends wrx (full exhuast, intake, boost at 16 psi, and some suspension work) beat him by an estimate of 1 car length. they were racing from 40-120. Is not cool to race in the street...but i guess my friend just couldn't stand that trash talking.

p.s...the wrx had around 50lbs of food in his car...we were going to bbq afterwerd.

i m not saying the srt-4 sucks or anything...but i guess mopar stage 1 isn't that much of a gain. how much are they charging for a mopar stage one anyway?

Raced a stage 2 with a friends EVO, who had an intercooler, intake, exhaust & MBC...I just humored him by keeping right next to him didn't even bother to launch...just got to the point where they pull and just walked him...as soon as he saw me leaving he let off...the look on his face was priceless.

Here is the kicker...I met this dude at the local mall that very weekend and guess what he says...'Eh...yeh..I had my boost control set at 10....'

Ahahah I just love it when people give me that excuse. When I took my car to church the veyr first time, there was a little gathering around my car. Since I am from Europe all we have at our church are Cars from: Maybach - > Honda Civic. We have around 7 AMGs (4 - E55 2004, 2 - S55 2004, 1 - SLK 55 2004) then we are talking about Audi and BMW and Volvo and etc... I will take some pictures to show you one day. But What I am trying to say is when they seen my car all of a suden they felt like they had to prove their power. When I told them that my car is only 2.0L and 4 cyl. they started to laugh. The guys with BMW and AMG knew the power of my car and wanted no part of it...... But listen to this....this was the funniest thing I have ever done driving a car.....the funniest. There is this guy in our church that thinks that Camry is the worlds best car. He even thinks that its the most powerful V6, so he came over and told me that my car was ugly, that it was weak beacuse it was only 2.0L and on and on.....

So on the way home from church I decided to wait for him. At the light I look over and just smile and try to **** him off. His wife and kids where in the car with him. They are the type of people that never give up so I decide to have some fun with them. Light turns green and we both floor it exept he hardly goes by the ligh and I am already on block away. Hahahaah I Slow down and let him get even with me. Then I go Again and then again slow down. Man it was so freaking funny. When I meet him later on the day at church he confronted me. He started telling me that I put nitros and some other crap that never exited into my car...... Oh man that was so funny. His excuse was that he didn't step on the car hard enough..... What a moran....

But all of you just remember that our Evos are almost considered exotic.... People will be after us all the time.

Tune your cars right and woop some *** out there, but most of all ENJOY!!!!!

A stage 3 Neon

 

Well you can buy a SRT-4 and upgrade it to stage 3 but, Dodge does not have a Stage 3 Srt-4 you can buy. How much money buy you have to spend on a car, by the way.

 

I have a stage 2 SRT-4. It's not slow. I love how nobody trusts salesmen but when what's his name starts telling us that the Evo is the end-all of sports cars and then in the same breath how superior Volvos are, nobody calls him on it. LOL. Hmmmmm. Now why would a Volvo/Mitsu saleman say that his cars are superior to the competition. That's a real pickle.

About this debate...it's really not worth an argument. Maybe I can be the voice of reason for most people in here. I'm on this forum because I'm plannning to sell the SRT-4 and get an Evo next month. Just don't believe the bull**** you read on the internet though. The only difference in stock power...I'm talking off the showroom floor...between the Evo and SRT-4 is the Evo's ability to efficiently put it to the pavement via an AWD drivetrain. If you really wanna know a car's true measure of power look at the trap speeds. Enough bickering. Why does everybody and his brother have such a passionate opinion on the SRT-4. I mean I never hear anybody saying anything about the Cobalt SS, Ion Redline, or Mazdaspeed Protege. Those are the cars in it's class. And don't tell me about the owners. It's a stereotype just like ****** drive beamers and gays drive saturns. I don't get it. Turn the page. Both are the best cars you can get for the price, and since the Evo costs $10k more it's obviously the superior performing car. Gduh. Different demographics. Different strokes for different folks. I'm not selling the SRT-4 because it feels like "a tree house"...I'm selling it because I commute to work through the foothills and the SRT-4 can't hold the Evo's jockstrap in the twisties. First of all Euro, where is all the attitude coming from. Are you trying to create a bash fest out of a civil thread? First of all, don't try to flame someone using misinformation. The SRT-4's engine is from Chrysler so you are definitely wrong there. Second...You speak about American crap cars but, yet you speak highly of Saturn and it's Ion??? LMAO!!! Why don't you check and see who owns Saturn and provides the drivetrain. Oh um let me see..That's right!!!! General Motors!!!!!!!

i dont think you could compare an evo with an srt-4.i dont see them as being in the same class either. must people say that stage 3 srt-4 could beat an stock evo. listen to that.( an stock evo) okay since they want to upgrade thier turbos. upgrade the turbo on the evo and all the other things that the stage 3 upgrades on the srt-4 and then measure up the two car.i dont know about you guys but i havent heard of an srt-4 doing 9's.

dont get me wrong i think that the srt-4 is a great car in its price range but being in the evo class i dont think so.
