I'm curious if a Dodge Srt-4 with the factory Mopar stage 3 upgrade that gives it about 320 hp would easily beat an Evo in the 1/4 mile and 0-60?

 

probably, its a lot lighter than the evo

Yes this is true. Its actually the evo 6 turbo if I remember correctly

I test drove the srt-4 today and it is nothing compared to my Evo. The interior is crap. I would rather keep my 600 dollar payments then ever own one of these.

 

even if the srt4 could bet an evo at the end of the day you are still driving a dodge neon

 

it would pull ahead in a straight line but Neons will never hang with the Evos through the corners

We had a meet a while back with 11 SRT-4's half a dozen Evo's and a few other lancers we had an "aggressive run" and Even the most modded SRT-4's (stage 2) weren't able to keep up with the stock Evo's that had 100 lb of stereo stuff in them. My point isn't to say that Evo's > all but they are certainly a few classes ahead of the SRT-4

 

my budy has stage 3 on his srt4 and he run 13.1 at 102 mph so it could win if the evo is 100% stock

I raced a staged 1 w/ toys from 25 - 130 and we were pretty dead even with me slightly pulling him.

He said he runs 12.8@106 w/ slicks, which I beleive cause I ran 12.7@ 110.

SRT-4's are pretty fast on a straight line when modded and driven right.
