Would a Mopar stage 3 SRT-4 beat an Evo
I think what people need to realize is that the SRT and the Evo are not even in the same class. Of course, if you had an Evo and a SRT sitting in front of you, both were free and you could only choose one. Your going to pick the Evo. Im a SRT owner and I would pick the Evo over my car any day. At the time, I just could not afford to drop the $$ on an Evo and I didn't want another DSM that I would have to doctor every other week.

The "interior is crap" excuse is the lamest excuse for not buying a car....

That car was built by the SRT group (formally known as PVO).

according to SCC, stage 3 srt-4 should soundly beat a stock evo in the 1/4 mile, though it should be close on the launch... with slicks, the stage 3 srt-4 can hit 11's. i don't know why there's such animosity towards the srt-4; it's a great little car and a great value, and it's really at the start of a legacy that'll probably endure quite well, as the muscle cars of the 60's and such have.
while the srt-4 and the evo are not in the same class, of course they will be compared--4 cylinder econo 4 door turbo charged rockets. only real gripe i have with the srt-4 is its FWD layout... but even so, i would jump on the chance to get one if i didn't have the evo car note and insurance payments
and i don't think we evo owners are in the most "superior" spot to look down on the srt-4... they DO have the displacement advantage. and as far as reliability goes, how many people have had xfr case issues again? clutches? syncros?
in the end, our cars are in wholly different categories and should be appreciated for what they are: a slap in the face at would-be status cars advertised as "great value" or "great performance". and the whole wrc legacy thing

BRAVO!
Hey I will post my time very shortly on - line but I have to finish my website. I have videos with my stock Evo rapind stage 2 Srt-4 at the drag strip. Pure stock evo. 12.9 1/4. you will all see it real soon. I was laughing all the way down the drag strip at the guy in the SRT. he tought that he had me since he did so many upgrades. After we where done racing he told me he didn't step on his car all the way.... Ahahahaha I just smiled and told him it's ok. Next time....We raced again and the guy could not keep up. He hit 13.2 I think was the lowest he hit all day long. There where about 4 other Srt racing including a Srt-4 that was brought in on a trailer. They rebuilt the engine, they had slicks, a huge turbo I mean this car was maxed out. The guy hardly ran 11.9 1/4. I asked them how much they put into that car. I almost fell down. It was around 20K. How absurd..... 20K and hardly running 11.9 with slicks.... the first 5 runs he was around 12.2 and 12.4 and then his final run was 11.9. Keep in mind that car wasn't driveable on the street. I have videos to back this up also. Like I said I will post them up soon. Then I will also post some videos with me and my parents Volvo Wagon killing Srt-4s. Thats going to be very funny. Hahahah...... I have some friends with their Camaro SS raping the **** out of Stage 3 Srt-4 also. And I also have this crazy friend of mine that modded his Cobra 2004 to 480 hp. Know you should see what he does to the Srt-4. I will post them soon.....
