Unhappy hi, im a noobie and need help!!

sup ppl, im new. I just bought my evo just before the new year, i love it...but it was bought used sooo here comes the problems..new clutch, new tires, new rims, and new brake pads. this is wat happened today.

help ppl, i think i did a very stoopid thing today. The guys at star mistu (dealer), said that my clutch is gone and i need a new one. so i was deciding to an act street clutch and a fidanza fywheel, but then i was told that it would void my powertrain warranty, so i decided to go with a stock clutch from factory. total cost $1000g.
$700 labor and $300 for stock clutch --- $70 buck throw out bearing.
was this a very stoopid and noobie thing i did?

lastly, is the factory warranty worth voiding????

How many miles on the car?
Are you planning to mod your car?
Is having the warranty important to you?

You can get a better clutch installed for the amount you are spending, but you have to then live with not having a warranty.

i think its a smart thing because you didnt void the warranty so if you have any problems in the near future with your used evos tranny it can still be covered.
remember the drivetrain is covered until 60 or 65k (dont remember which)

especially if you plan on using that dealer in the future for stuff, it's good for them to know they did the work and they are responsible for it...

Ok, so basically it sounds like they factored in the price of the clutch into the cost. You made a good decision not to void your warranty then. You might need it later on. I would also recommend you go easy on the Mods. Put in stuff you can swap out easily for the stock parts in case you need to take it in for any work.

I'll post a big NO. If your old and have grey hair the dealer might treat you right. If your younger looking they will think that you beat and drag race your car, and try to void the warranty. I bet you will save some money to do a few mod's then you might as well scratch the warranty. Get better parts and have more fun. I wished Mitsu had better EVO service.
