I have a restored '71 Z-28 with a built 350 sbc, full Hotchkis/Koni suspension. I used to think that thing was fast and handled pretty well. Not even close now. I am thinking about selling it because it is no longer fun to drive after being in the EVO. EVO is faster, handles better, sounds almost as good (nothing will ever sound as good as a V8 with big cams), and has 30 year worth of refinement and amenities.

Fastest car I have ever driven is a '98 Viper GTS. That thing has more torque at 1000 rpms than the Evo makes at any speed.

As for those of you who say an awd Porche 911TT (~420hp?) is faster, for the +$110,000 you will spend for one of those you can have a 600whp (700-750 at the crank?) EVO that will decimate all. Plus you can haul your family and friends in the EVO and scare the **** out of them.

I just sold my 96 Cobra to get the evo. It was a 12 sec. car @ 108.7 in quarter. That is why Switzer Performance Innovation is building my evo from the ground up. Here is the site link. www.switzerperformanceinnovation.com

I had an Integra Type R that ran 10.8 at 125 525fwhp. So, that was faster, but I love the EVO way more and believe with the money spent on the R the EVO can do the same. I do miss mid 120 mph trap speeds though.

Yeah, believe it or not, it was my daily driver with full interior, a\c, radio, etc. I could only run those times on slicks. With street drag radials the best I could manage was 12.2 at 122 with a 2.3 60 foot time. Damn front wheel drive cars.

No, the Evo is not the fastest car I have ever owned. I did not get rid of anything to get it, so no big loss. However, the Evo is for sure one of the most fun cars I have ever owned.

0 - 60 yes.
top speed - no
handling - toss up

My previous car was a 93 Rx-7. It would easily cruise at 150Mph and feel solid. I don't like the way the EVO feels above 110 so I have not pushed it past 115. But from 0 - 100mph the EVO is the fastest thing I've owned and it handles like a wet dream.

No, I had a '91 VR4 that had "some" mods. I dropped a C5 from about 90 and broke 175 (not sure by how much - I did'nt spend too much time looking at the speedo).
An "expert" was trying was tuning the AVC-R & SAFC and blew the motor for me.

Fastest so far. Since i cant afford insurance on the C5 or other sports cars it is fastest I can afford. The best thing is that the RS does not draw too much attention like other fast cars.
Need to get rid of the bling on the tail lights.
