Thats the range I would like to be paying a month.. heh. But I figure some where in the range of 200-350 would be alright.

Anyone know how much of a down payment, and APR I would need for that?

Exactly!

You looking at buying brand new? There are some things to consider when buying brand new cars. They depreciate about 25% the first year of owning it. They smell awesome and you know that no one has abused or driven the car (if the miles are around like 9).

I'm not sure how old you are, but for me buying a used one was the best way to go. There are plenty of evo's out there for sale at good prices, some modded to hell, some busted, and some very well taken care of. I leave it in your hands to choose young evowalker. Sorry watched Episode III trailer.

Im 19, and live in Michigan. I didn't have a particular idea of how I was gonna buy one, I mean if I found a nice used one.. that would be something to consider. Or brand new (loan, monthly payments).

I just want to have an Evo, and my goal is sometime after summer.

I have been thinking of some things I would do to my car after I get it. I mean it would be a good amount of time after I got it, to make sure everything was ok, and I was happy, but things I have been thinking about, or considering are as follows: (Also, please feel free to leave some feedback).

Exhaust: Catback (HKS, GReddy)

Intake: Not sure yet, any ideas? Was thinking AEM, Injen, HKS, or ARC.

BOV: HKS SSQV, GReddy Type S, or RS (I know some of you don't agree with getting a aftermarket BOV, but I personaly like the sound. I know it doesn't increase power, etc.)

Possible a dyno flash? If somewhere around here does it...

Then some other things like: cams, etc. But that will come later.

But, things not pertaining to the engine (that I am considering):

Veilside Version 1 BodyKit
Volk GT-7 (18's)
..and some other things.

Lemme know what you like, what you don't like, and what you would change, etc. The usual

you can figure a monthly payment = 17-18 dollars for every thousand financed... ( on average around 4-5%) for 60 months

so 200.00 to 350.00 would be feasible if you finance the car at 12,000 to 19,500 ( so you could put some down and get there ) if you have great credit you might get 0% , and then its easy just divide total car cost by 60 months or whatever...

if you dont plan on driving it more than 12-15k miles per year, a lease is a good option... and can get you there without the money down... usually just need first months payment and a small fee up front

Well what do Evo's usually run? Brand new aren't they like 31 something, and used like 23-25 something?

Say I put 10 grand down, and the car was 30 grand... and I had great credit (0% APR) I would divide 20,000 by 60 and get $333 a month.. correct?

But, don't leases restrict you from modding?

Depending on what dealer you could get around 30 something for new. Shop around though. Also unless you have a secured credit card or a cell phone or something that could build you some credit no Financial Institution will finance that amount of money unless you have co-signer or I think a good down payment like $10,000.

Then im in good shape. I could have a co-signer (my mom), and $10,000 is a possible down payment. Thats what I am hoping for atleast..possibly more.

Also, I have good credit, have had a check book for almost a year now, and just got a credit card about a week ago. Have already had monthly payments on another toy (Sea Doo), and haven't paid late, or anything.

Driving record is excellent. Have only had one ticket (LAME) .. there was a sign in my school parking lot that said "No Right Turn" then it listed some times u couldn't do it. However kids did it all the time, and I did it a lot (never saw the sign, plus I was new to the school, it was like my second year there). Well one day I pulled out, and BAM cop with his lights on right on my a$$. Pulled me over, and have me a $115 ticket... lamest thing I have ever seen. Other than that tho, Im clean.

sweet! I would suggest get your mom to get the loan because even though you have some what good credit it is no where near the credit score of your moms. I'm sure she has A paper and could get the lowest score possible. Make yourself a co-signer then when your credit is good enough to get you an affordable APR then just switch yourself to the primary on the account and bam! you got yourself an evo. Now insurance is a WHOLE different story. Even with a clean record your insurance premiums will be high till at least the age of 25 I think is when they drop.
