RUMOR or FACT? Intake lower the HP of my EVO??

HI guys,

I am interested in doing a adapter/filter dropin and i've heard that it actually lower the HP of my car? Is that the case? Is it true? Any info is appreciated....

it really doesnt lower any hp.. it allows you to hear you stock bov and you will only gain power when you get your ecu retuned

and searxh its your best friend

reason: if you wanna make the most out fo your mods, or even to squeeze out instead of loosing some hp you need to get tuned for, so yes, search, and you will learn why

I gained horsepower by changing to an aftermarket intake but the reason for the gain was very unsafe. Due to the sensitivity of the MAF on our cars after market intakes cause you to run very lean. After putting an ARC intake on my AFR's went from 11.2:1 at redline to 12.8:1. It can be tuned out but its very difficult with all the turbulence caused by aftermarket intakes. Your best bet is to just drop in a K&N air filter and leave the stock air box alone.
