lowering spring with high hp question?
right now my car sit one Tein S Tech Lowering springs and my car bout to put down 500-550whp.... do u think jus the spring will be able to handle the power when i launch at the track without breaking any thing (rear diff or axles)?
Improper launching will have more more of an impact on your axles and rear diff than your springs. But since you brought it up, I recommend swapping those springs out for something that doesnt eat struts for breakfast such as Swifts Gtworx or Robispec.

im only planning keep running this spring for one more summer (500 miles on the spring)... i hope there wont be any thing wrong till nex winter that when im going for coilover..
Car height is less important than spring rate, with regards to drag racing. While the Teins are not the choice spring for overall performance, in this scenario I think it kinda is. The soft rear rates actually helps the launch...am I wrong?
Tires gain traction as you load them more, yes, but its not 1:1. Meaning you're giving up traction in front for a gain in rear traction but not as much as the front has lost. I'm no drag expert since I havent been to a drag strip in like 4 years, but there may be some merit in the delay of the onset of power while the load is tranfering helping to reduce shock to the tires.. Or it could be insignificant
. Though 500hp isnt really too much to worry about for traction, a set of drag slicks or good street tires will probably be all you need.
The down side to load transferring is the front wheels now have much less traction than the rear and its up to the center diff to hold the torque difference. I don't know about you but I don't wouldn't want my diff responsible for all that torque...Its kind of a weenie as it is.
As far as your springs. THEY SUCK! Not just an opinion, they make your Evo slower, ruin balance, and screw up suspension geometry. Get a real set of springs, read my review of GTworx springs...

I dont know what kind of clutch you have but when I go to the track this year I plan on slipping my clutch off the line, if you launch and you start to get wheel hop you will have one broken evo at the line.
I just got a set of Robispec lowering springs for my birthday. Im not sure if these springs will effect my 60fts or not
. Im not expecting them to improve my 60fts but I sure dont want them to make it worse. Any ideas on this? If it will make it worse I may just stick with my stock springs for now.

A couple Evos and DSMs in this vid. You can see that the front wheels spin faster than the rear because the springs are a little soft. While this is good, it puts a lot more stress on the tc and rear diff. Also, since it being AWD, you have to draw the line somewhere. You're not doing brake stands here so it'll be wise to get some stiffness in the rear to have a good AWD launch. Get some coil overs. You can get some Fortune Auto 500s and have it be tuned for drag.
