Wondering about the evo
Wondering about the evo
hey guys, i found this site after much distress
and i dont have an evo but i desperatly want and will get one in the future but, but i basically want to know what is the best way to build my evo? should i go engine parts? turbo upgrades? exhaust intake? i am not a car expert so if i sound stupid my bad. but when i get my evo i want to make it quik as hell.
my friend has an STi and i, personaly think its a POS, people say STi's rape evo's but i dont know and dont really care, cuz when i get my evo i want to be spanking that little rich boy all day
so what should i do? im basically looking for a car that will rip up the streets, not worried about race tracks. the occasional drag strip would be nice, and i dont want some dyno queen like a supra. i want a real street machine. something thats gonna kill some shizz.
i live in albuquerque new mexico and the altitude is high. and i was also wondering what would an evo, with a decent driver run at high altitudes? 13? 14? im a bit of an evo newbie, but i know a some stuff. as i am just getting into cars.
thanks anyways guys.

Basically, if you search for each of your questions, you'll get enough info to keep you busy for several hours. The standard answer to such basic questions is "F U, DO A SEARCH," so I'll give you this friendly suggestion along with a big welcome.
One other thing...you may want to consider changing your username.

Welcome, I recommend you goto www.buschurracing.com and use staged upgrades or find another vendor that offers these services.
Well, I prefer to just suggest searching as well. It can be a bit frustrating as there is an amazing amount of information to get through...
There are a lot of vendors on this site that do tuning on Evos...that's a great start. They have paths to get you well over 400whp (with the turbo upgrades.)
If you're looking for something impressive in a straight line, the evo is a pretty neat car. If that's ALL you want, there are probably better ones out there. If you do give a wee bit about handling, the evo starts to gain a lot of ground. If you want one of the best overall performance cars for around 30K (depending on model), that will also cart a couple friends around...it's pretty difficult to beat.
The typical response to this (other than search), is TUNE, TBE, TUNE, MBC, TUNE, Intake, TUNE, cams, TUNE, I/C upgrades (pipes and actual IC), TUNE, Turbo, TUNE...you get the picture from here. Upgrades are helpful, but with the proper tuning, they get quite amazing.

cool, thanks. i dont mean to ask stupid questions, its just i dont know. so i figure if i get feedback from evo owners. it would be much better then asking some stupid website, wich the creator of the website may have some stupid bias opinion either against or for the evo, i just wanna know strait up. and as for strait line car, i wont change my mind for anything. sorry
i love the evo dearly and i promise i will make all evo owners proud.

change your user name. but welcome, and good luck. iwould worry about getting the evo first. it's pretty fast as is and then decide if it's worth the money to do all the upgrades.
Welcome... if you have the patience, you'll find a ton of good info and leads here. By the way, whoever told you STi rapes Evo is a moron. They're virtually identical cars stock, and (so far) the Evo takes better to modifications. If you want a 10 second Evo, your going to need very deep pockets. Not only for parts, labor and tuning, but also for maintenance and repairs. With a setup like Buschur's Stage 4 or Vishnu's Stage 1+ you'll pretty much be walking over most people you may encounter on the streets for just a few $Gs extra. Here's what I'd recommend:
1- Look at who the major vendors and tuners are on the site
2- Visit their websites to see how they've built faster cars
3- Come back to this site and review user's reviews of these products/tuning
4- Research info on parts/upgrades you don't understand
5- Find someone local who has done stuff to an Evo and ask them questions in person
6- Accept the fact that your car will not be warranteed
7- Have fun, and be careful!

because a "10secEvo" is pretty hard to come by. It's far from impossible, but it's not like you just get an evo, dump 5K into it and have a reliable 10sec car...
if you do build a 10 sec evo...then the name is probably more acceptable

well that sucks :P
my friend is sitting next to me, he is also fuxing with me telling me an evo is slow compared to his 350z non turbo, he has intake exhaust and some gay power chip or something? yet he has never raced an evo and he says he will spank it, what do u think?
