Couple things I were looking at were body kits, rear lights, and muffler tips. I will be on a somewhat tight budget, but don't want the parts to look cheap. Was just looking for any suggestions on what I could do to my car to spice it up. What products would do the job etc.

Just a little side note if recommending something, like the bodykit, I live in new york and travel alot, so snow and pot holes are most likely to be around alot. But I would love something that gives it a lower look or feel.

Anybody else find that funny as hell?

Take that thing off the hood, tint it, and leave it alone. It's a Lancer.

Yeah that is a good start, and good finish. I wouldn't do anything more than that.

^--I agree by the way you are talking with not wanting to spend alot of money. The springs would prolly be the most expensive part of what you want to do. Trust me, you will really want the springs. Once you get them, you will see how sloppy the original suspension was. Oh, and in the future, if you are really up to it, maybe some 16'' or 17'' rims and low profile tires. Give it a nice look, better turning, traction. (not that we have to much of a traction problem from a dead start anyways unless its turbo. )

i'm surprised no one has told you to search. but yeah,. get rid of the hood, and grab some tint. I did/doing exterior work right now. performance will come later, when i have a job that can afford mods like a catback, cold air, etc. whatever else

Why even waste money on performance? The only way the Lancer can really be fast enough to compete with anything is with bolt ons AND turbo. Just not worth it IMO, just go for a clean look.

If you are going to be spending over a grand on looks, you might as well just put that towards performance and later on worry about looks.

Unless you're going to go all the way and do turbo and all the bolt ons, it's still going to be slow as hell. Exhaust and intake isnt going to make a difference. It's a waste, it will just change the sound, and really make people think you are fast/want to race.

Subtle mods and upgrades to the exterior won't lead people on as much as a fartcan will.

if you focused on the looks, and got in a minor accident. ur money will be in total waste. i suggest you to do the performance first before doing the looks. u wouldnt want to grab everyone's attention to a slow-*** car. u'd rather keep a low profile and suprise everyone with the stock appearance with high performance.

thnk about it

EXHAUST AND INTAKE != HIGH PERFORMANCE!!!

Why can't you people get this through your heads?!

Exhaust and intake isnt going to make a difference
BTW, basing your mod decisions on what might happen if you get into a wreck is stupid. Might as well not mod the car at all in that case

Everyone has their own opinions and ideas on what they want to do and what order they want to do it. Just do what you want, don't always listen to others (especially the haters) . A lot of the best cars are done by people who took a look at what everyone else had, and then went in another direction and started their own trends. Do some research and then make some purchases. Props on getting the car and venturing into the tuning world. Good luck with whatever you do!
