Although performance is always a plus, I agree, but I live in central new york, where every other car looks the same. I am just aming to spend a little money to make mine stick out/ look different. Ive always wanted something that was appealing looks wise atm, than worry about perfomance if money isn't an issue.

Well sometimes performance mods also serve a double purpose in also dressing up your car. For example., a nice catback system will give you a nice shiney exhaust can and tip makin your back end pretty sweet. Check your PMs.

Who said anything about exhaust/intake... we're talking save a grand for a turbo, or larger performance mods. If you are looking to make your car 'stick out'. The sound of a turbo'ed engine or even the sound of small performance mods like intake/exhaust would do it. You wouldn't believe how many people laugh at a cars when they see a body kit on it, especially when they can hear its stock. But it's up do you, do you want your car to stick out because people are laughing at it? or because people are giving you props.

you're gonna need the exhaust sooner or later...the intake 'no' if you are going turbo.

But your point on cars with kits and nothing to make it go fast:
What do you mean people laugh!?
Tuners have to figure out which way they wanna go...if they make their car look nice and just invest in some 'go' mods that's ok. Shooot i'm doing it. Or if everyone puts all their $$$ under the hood, then that's cool too. Some people do both, and that's awesome. But it's entirely up to the person.

People should give props no matter what. If you got a STI, corvette, wutever passin you up but your cars hot as heck on the outside....then that's just what it is: a nice looking car that don't care if you're getting passed up. Same goes with sleepers. IF a nicer looking car laughs at it till they get smoked, then that's just what it is.

You do what you gotta do. The money I put on my exterior mods, could've been a turbo already. The money a turbo'ed car could've been a nice kitted, decked out Lancer for car shows. You pick, you decided, you mod. That's what is is, that's what we're all doing. I love parking my car and lookin back 5 times to admire the work i've done with it. Forced fed or N/A, what you ultimately do to you car is what you want to do and what makes you happy even what others disagree.

I completely agree, but this guy said he's looking for attention by others.
All I know, is that at least 20 of the kids I hang out with, laugh when they
see an import roll by with a body kit on it, especially if they can't hear
anything under the hood. If he's doing it for self passion, then by all means
put a body kit on it and do whatever the hell you want that pleases you. But
if you are looking for the most 'good' attention out of others, performance is
the best way to start.

I do agree that the body kit can make people laugh, but it all depends on the body kit and how its installed I think. I personally do not care if people think theres no speed behind it, it doesn't really matter if its a full kit, I am not going to be using my car for shows, or to race, I would just like a nice looking car so exterior as well as some interior mods are what i am looking for mainly.

Welcome to Evom. If you want information your going to have to use the search button =]
Everyone is going to tell you something different. I think your car looks nice. If you want to make it a little diff., then I would suggest something simple like lowering springs, or window tint. Both are pretty cheap and fuctional. As far as bodykits go, I had one on for 6 months and then hit a big chunk of ice on the highway and that was it for me! Too much money to waste on something minor! Really, it will need up being a money pit. Plus you already have the factory ground effects. Whatever you choose, good luck!

if you're looking for stuff to get for cheap get a civic
j/k,

basically since you're not gonna show it off, by racing or car shows, then you can cut a lot off of the budget. like turbo, body kits, etc.

there's a bunch of DIY things you can do for extra flair. check the DIY forum.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/lancer-how-tos-installations-83/
~lots of good stuff in there.

for exterior, if your just giving yourself a good feeling about your car overall, tint your windows, get an intake/exaust, lowering springs, keep it clean looking, lose the hood scoop, and that's that. all that for prolly less than $1000. it'll make your happier too. i like the sound of an intake when it's wide open throttle. rims are a good add too for making your car stick out a bit too.

interior can be fun, if you keep it fairly simple as well. get a good stereo, for starters. since i am sure lots of people on here did SOME stereo upgrades.

whatever you do, keep it clean! lancers are pretty sexy out of the box. more-so than many other imports. all of my info is just suggestions, and prolly conflict with everyone else, except keeping it clean looking. just use your head. use search ALOT. and if you're getting something, ask around here first for advise.

just my 2 cents

my reasoning is this: like hellacious said lancers are not really fast and can not be really fast even w/ turbo and everything else. I just want a little more go (intake, exhaust, header, etc.) and some subtle body mods for now. When I can start making some good money maybe i will take it further but right now i'm just taking it one small step at a time.
