it's just wheel paint in bronze on the z. i think they came out really nice. i actually would like to do the same to my stock wheels only gunmetal.
the mitsu dealer here has an 03 black evo thats hammered. the paint is chipped all over, the bolts and motormounts are rusting. just looks like ***... and they still want $25,900 for it with 30k miles. good news for us.. the things hold their value. bad news for whoever buys it.
anyhow, the wheels were rusted and corroded and i DO plan on driving the stock wheels through winter. i have some blizzaks just waiting... and the brake dust on these cars is rediculous, so i think i would like to try a darker shade.
i plan on 18" black wheels for next summer, but for now, a little paint just might do the trick.
the springs are by espelier. i got them from cusco. i took some more pics of the car today now that they've had time to settle in. i'll get on putting the pics up.

there is a HUGE sunflower field that pops up every summer. i cant wait to park in front of that thing!

i honestly dont know much about the previous evo models. they seem to be out of my reach, so i try not to get my heart set on something i can't have.
ive been around the eclipses for a few years and ive seen a few motors built, seen a few blow up.
i just hope there are enough differences in the 4g63 from the eclipse to the evo to not have to share crankwalking and insane lifter tick and snapping rod bolts at 400hp. and i would love to hope the trannies aren't glass like the dsm's, but so far, i haven't been reassurred. i HAVE heard good things about the MR trans though.
i once put a hole in the bell housing of emery's 11 second laser. sorry honey. hey, he said if i didn't do it he would have.
will the 6-speed trans go in the 5 speed without any *major* complications? i don't see why not, but, like i said, i don't know these well enough.
the only problem i've had was one day coolant POURED out of the vent in the hood. it came in through the roof, stung my eyes, and covered the windshield. the return line on the turbo split open. we got some hose from the house and fixed it and had the hose warranteed later.
i guess you can't garuntee every single inch of hose. the best part of it was i was stopped on the side of the road with my flashers on, waiting for emery... and i was actually thinking how nice it was to be there, on the road, with my 4 ways on, and NOT in a busted *** eclipse. true stuff. and dont i blow something up just shifting into second.
i dont really know what you mean, specifically, by the history. if you mean the rally aspect, the different evo models or if you mean how the car, overall from 1-9 has been developed. in which case, i am in the dark because i didn't follow the overseas versions.
how close, if at all, do you consider the evo related to the gsx?
what was the year the evo was first introduced overseas?
has subaru made the sti over seas? and for how long has the competition been going on?
i dont expect you to answer these, but this is the kind of stuff i want to learn.
i bought the evo because i have been in love with the gsx... but i have learned the hard way that the car is a pos.
the evo is beautiful, it's functional for all year driving, it has alot of potential, and it's brand new with a warranty. it puts a smile on my face either looking at it or driving it. and that's all i really care about.
