People take things way to seriously here. Take a joke and stop crying. He started the rice thing.

i was just joking with the title of this thread....i didnt think the bov was really considered "rice" ive been in the car game for awhile now and i love performance mods that help actual performance but i just really like the sound of a spooling turbo and also a bov...shouldnt be that big of a deal...when it comes to this BOV and also a injen intake im assuming the bov isnt gonna help too much performance wise but what about the intake? i know for example a intake out a 2g eclipse can help quite a bit but a intake out a un-tuned suburu can be horrible....

With the Injen, you will lose power until tuned. It is not a poor quality piece, but it just doesn't work well with the MAF until tuned properly. The BOV won't hurt, unless it's VTA, and it will hold boost better than the stocker, which I found to start leaking pressure at 13psi during a pressure test. For the combined cost of those 2, you can get a cat-back, MBC, and flash while gaining 40-50whp (instead of -10whp with a crappy idle), but you won't hear any turbo spooling...you'll only hear the exhaust, which is what you are supposed to hear, not the intake.

well i already have planned on getting a full TBE exhaust first along with safc...im not sure if i will still get the injen intake...you said i would have probs with the intake unless tuned properly? could this tuning be taken care of with a safc? regarding the hks ss bov yes i am still going to get that...if i have to ill get the piece that hks makes for it so it wont mess up my car....if i even need it....also i live about a hour away from mas so thats who is going to do my tuning.

Initially I wanted to tell you to shoot yourself....but then again, you might wanna try stabbing instead.......wait, no, thats not what I meant

A good airfilter and exhaust, along with a nice recirculating BOV will help enhance the performance and make a little extra noise if thats what your looking for. The SSQV is O.K, but still there are better choices. As far as I know you can't recirc that BOV, only buy the electronic piece that HKS makes to help the car lean out when you let off the throttle with a VTA BOV

If you do this first, then you'll be great. With just an S-AFC, I ran my 12.8. I now have a cat-back and MBC, and I plan to run 12.4@110. Until I do it, I can't claim it, but we'll find out soon enough. The car is much faster than it was when I ran that 12.8, so I expect at least a 12.5. Btw, this is with the stock BOV and stock intake (w/drop-in filter), so those things aren't needed to go fast, but they are legitimate mods to do down the road. I'm currently waiting on my JDM MR DV, so that I can hold boost better above 13psi (plastic stocker leaks here), but I can't complain about how the stocker is performing. I actually installed my friend's HKS SSQV today, and it was a normal recirculating BOV. It was actually very quiet even with the windows down and was only barely noticeable when shifting.

As for the Injen intake, the S-AFC is your tuning device, so that combination should work fine. It's just that you don't get hardly any gains for the price of that thing, so it's not my favorite...

1) Get an HKS Type 1 Racing BOV that vents to atmosphere
2) Get a custom 3" TurboBack Exhaust made at a local shop and make sure it's as straight as possible all the way to the back with no muffler. True 3" aluminum with minimum bends, no bungs, minimum pieces (few pipes), and weld a 5" chromed exhaust tip to the end.
3) Get the Injen Intake that includes an open air filter and polished upper intercooler piping.

After all this, you'll have spent ~$1500 to not only LOOK like your standard ricey Honda, but you'll be about as fast as one, too. Good luck.
Figures this f-ing tool would chime in. All Hail Captain of the rice police!

bah, well i'll answer the question that you asked.. my advice to make it NOT too ricey.. would be, tial blow off valve welded to the upper IC pipe, HKS drop in filter, helix test pipe, and like a greddy Ti catback. it should be plenty loud and the bov sounds ok.. i'm not sure if that's what i'd do personally.. but you can spend your money however u like. after all... it is.. your money.

I'm a tool for making a joke? I'm sorry...I guess my later responses to the thread originator were not enough to bump me up from "tool" status.

I think anyone would agree that my list of suggested mods in this thread is ridiculous enough to be considered "ricey"...or at least I hope. Btw, nice mod list.
