Hi, I'm a turbo n00b!!!

Anyways, I've always driven a NA car... mainly hondas.

I've had one accord, and after the tuning bug bit me, I had two integras and an RSX Type S, which I just traded in for a new 05 VIII.

Anyhoo, I've learned a bit or two about NA tuning, but don't know a lick about FI cars.

All I know is that my new car hauls ***, eats gas, but is one helluva ride.

Can someone help a n00b out with a couple of different examples of the most popular tuning paths for evos.

For example, with NA, it's common knowledge that you start with Intake, Header, then exhaust, and you build from there... but people tell me that FI is a totally different monster.

Anyhoo... What's the most popular place to start when you want to get into tuning an EVO???

Most basic mods to net you 300WHP is Turboback exhaust, boost controller, fuel pump, and a re-flash

320Whp = all the above plus the addition of cams

Intake, turboback exhaust, some type of boost controller, and usually some kind of tuning device/ enigine management. Like Emanage, Utec, SAFC or an ECU reflash like Dynoflash.

Vishnu Stage 1+

Then try to wipe the permanent smile off your face.

I am pretty sure as it stands right now.. the best upgrade for most people is to upgrade the driver in the form of driving/race lessons.

I'll only say this once: PROPER GAUGES!!!!!! Never start a project witout being able to view the changes on the car's behavior. Get yourself able to read the output before adding more power or changing things.

There's like seven steps to stage 1. What is the most popular.

The v360 looks mighty fine, how easy are the cam gears to install???

And can someone tell me what gains you would expect from a test pipe to a high flow cat???

I know it's illegal in my area... but a fire breathing Evo has been my dream since I can remember.

i was once in the same boat as u, all i can say is jsut read a lot of the Evo General Sectin, when people post problems, people post solutions. THats's where u learn. Anyways, as they stated are good routes, or a really good route is Buschur's Stages. They're really straight forward and u will have nice gains, As for gains from a test pipe to high flow cat, i dont think you will gain because a test pipe flows better. If you wanna backfire, run straight turboback with a VTA bov and tune it rich(er)

turbo back normally includes downpipe(from the turbo), cat or cat delete on top of what you know.

turboback exhaust is everything after the turbo, hence the "turboback".
