Best Japanese Made exhaust system

Hi all, I am thinking about getting an exhaust for my Evo 8 and I was wondering what you guys think is the best system? I want more power obviously but nothing too loud, I don't want the cops coming down on me.

The other restriction is that since I am in New Zealand, the only products I really have access to are Japanese made ones, e.g. HKS, Apexi, Greddy, etc.... Stuff like Ingen, Buscher are just too much hassle to get down here.

Any suggestions for a good japanese made exhaust?

Check out the exhaust section here:

These guys sell a wide range of high-quality JDM exhausts. I'm sure they would be more than happy to give you some advice over the phone even if you decide not to buy from them.

I looked at fujutsubo for my last car, but the exhaust that they put out for it literally didn't make a difference of sound from the stock one! It was not quite what I was looking for.

I was thinking HKS? A lot of guys here seem to be happy with some kind of HKS exhaust. Noise dosn't actually bother me that much, but as long as you can button off when you see a cop cruising past, and it dosn't drone on the motorway I'm more than happy.

Not JDM, but have you considered these guys...........

A lot of the UK guys are fitting the APS exhaust systems (both full 3" and 3.5" TBEs) and rate them very highly.

It's annoying to see threads about the SAME THING getting started over and over AND OVER again. If people would just take the time to search, the answers they want are out there.

Don't you just love it when people automatically sound like an *** by asking questions that have already been answered MANY TIMES!!!

I would personally rank my favorite EVO Cat-Backs in this order (sound, fit, and performance are my primary decision factors.. weight adds brownie points):

Amuse Extra-Titan
HKS 30th Anniversary Hi-Power
Fujitsubo Super Titanium Cat-Back
GReddy Racing Ti
JIC Titanium Cat-Back / Magnaflow Ti Cat-Back
Kakimoto Regu 92-R Cat-Back
Buschur Racing Cat-Back
AMS Cat-Back

this is just my opinion, but these are my favorite exausts

Hey en1gma19 nice to have your input on board.
If you do a search for "best japanese exhaust" you will see the same thing I did. A lot of people on these forums being american recommend Buscher, or as I said above HKS. Not much mention of stuff like Apexi fujutsubo etc. I could do a search by each individual brand name but then that won't help me either, all I really know about are a couple of the major brands that I have heard about from here that suit Evo's.
There is that thread title "the EXHAUST thread" but at 43 pages, after I read the first 5 or so it dosn't have what I'm looking for, most of the pics are lost links, and I want opinions on noise not specs of diameters etc.. I can get those anywhere.

If 7 other guys can reply nicely with advice then I gotta wonder what your problem is. If the thread offends you as it looks like it does, then you shouldn't come in. Its not like it had a mis-leading title, or there was another thread named the same thing in the first 5 pages in the forum. Trust me I checked before I posted.

Maybe you should just pull your head in and you won't get so stressed out by little things like forum posts. If things like forum posts worry you this much its probably not good for your blood pressure.

Anyway back on topic, MTMS4, I had a look on the website for APS they don't have any Evo 8 info up. Although I know they are really big over the way in aussie. I may look into it.

Cheers spooling and tsurara I'll take a closer look at those brands you suggested, appreciate it . Not really too iinterested in Titanium exhausts though (I see a couple in there) I hear they don't last too well and if you scrape them they break easily?

Actually my input is in many of the threads you neglected to read because you're either too lazy or too stupid to figure out how to do a proper search. If you would take the time to read the threads that are already out there maybe you could learn something. And as the matter of fact, the suggestion to search is not a jab or meant as an ***, it is actually to help you out. Whether you want to believe it or not, there is a lot more information out there that is much better quality that the 7 replies you got in this pointless thread
