HP - 120
torque - 130
Its hard to build alot of power going n/a like I'm doing but turbo jumps it to 200+. Also mods for this car arent cheap like a civics are.

cons
-weak base hp
-little potential for big numbers, ie 300+
-high cost of parts
-low availability of parts (not a lot of companys make em)
pros
-good potential suspension wise.. this car is good around corners with minimal work/money. 2000 and your a/c with the best in class
-nice gauges
-beautiful car, just look at some pics on here, this car has the potential to look sick!
-pretty toquey
-good sleeper if its turboed...people will be like wtf a lancer?
-not a civic
overall i love my cxar but please dont overpay for one.
good luck on ur purchase.

^^^yes wrx are bada$$ cars but even an 02 will cost nearly twice as much (i havent seen one around here for less than 15g). i have an 02 oz and have had no problems really, just the regular maintanence that you have to take care of, its plenty reliable, but the true downsides of the car are base hp, potential, and parts availability, other than that, its a pretty good car. good luck

If you're looking for the Evo's little sister, you might be dissapointed. This is like a baby sister with autism and CP. Very little potential, but reliable to do what it does best.

^^^ lol.
The oz is a great car, buy it... If I had to buy another sedan from a company, I would go mitsu again... I like there styling, direction and over all company.
Civic = Boaring, Everyone Has One
Corolla = Girly, Sits High, Everyone Has One
Mazda = A Bit Girly
Sentra = Ugly As Hell!

You are going to get biased opinions on Lancers here. I would say if I were to buy a car again I'd get the Ralliart, but don't let that fool you... I love my Lancer to death. It's a great car and handles really well. If you love hooking up car then take a look at what some have done with their Lancers.

Wanna buy mine, I'm in VA. It goes up for sale officially next month. Here's the skinny on the Lancer, of course this is my opinion.Originally Posted by ModifiedOZ

If you want a grocery getter that doesn't look too bad, gets decent gas mileage, get one and replace the stock grill immediately (mine already has the Ralliart JDM grill). If you want something that handles well right off the bat, look elsewhere. If you want something that does sub 15 seconds in the 1/4 mile, look elsewhere. Some minor suspension mods will yield a great handling car, as our stock frame IS the little sister to the EVO without having autism and CP <- the engine has those. It's a good sleeper if you build it up. You can get one for pretty cheap. I want to get about 9k for mine and most in the market around here go for between 10 and 12. For some reason they are selling for that much when they are not worth that much (thank Enterprise rent a car and
for that one).Don't buy a WRX. They have the worst turbo lag and need a lot of help to be good cars. Not to mention they are ugly, especially without the wing, puke. Right now for the same price as a Lancer you can get a used BMW, Acura TL, Mustang, Honda Accord, Honda Civic SI, Honda Prelude, Lexus ES300, Mazda Miata, Mazda Protege5 (one of the best wagons ever built), Mitsu Eclipse, Nissan 300Z, Altima, Maxima, and Sentra SE-R Spec-V (I would get this over the Lancer any day). So, there's a lot to choose from. Good luck with your purchase
