Smile New to this

Hi all. I have just purchased a 2005 Evo RS. I am wanting to either upgrade the ECu or completely replace it. I have found some, but I am not sure which to use or how to go about doing this.
Anyone have any advice for me?
Thanks
Jessica

The search button will be your best friend here. Most companies offer a mail-in ECU flash, which is a good starting point until you start modding. Then, you may want to hook up a custom tune or reflash for your mods.

do you know of any sites where I can purchase an ECU? Sorry, When it comes to this, I am completely dumb. Also, if I dont know how to tune it, can I just buy one that is pre-tuned?

i've seen pre tuned ecu's before, but they usually are sold in a kit with cams and other upgrade parts.

I'd suggest an important thing is to know which other mods you're going to do. If it's relatively few and common mods, then a flashed/tuned ECU would probably do it. If you're going to do a lot, then a standalone would be the more capable tuning option.

i am wanting to do a catback exhaust. I know that for sure. Anything else, I am pretty much just going to go with the flow.
Also, How much HP does a new ECU add anyways?

You really ought to do a little more reading and research. It really seems like you need a good explaination of what mods do. That's a very vague and generic question that you just asked.

Sorry, I'm not trying to flame. What I really mean is you should go in the engine and tuning forums and just start reading. Also find people who are local to you and talk to them. It really helps to see stuff in person

There are lots of companies that can help you out, if you want you could even just watch the banners on the top of the site here! But I reccomend Dynoflash, buschur racing, Works rally, Vishnu, there are alot of great tuners around here and check out the vendor for sale section, lots of stuff at good prices and welcome to the fam.
