well i am in the market for a new car... i was thinking about getting a 99-01 impreza RS or getting a 99-01 mirage and putting a evo motor into it. i have a friend with a shop that says he can do it for me. i know nothing about mirages. do they handle well? how would they handle with the added bonus of AWD? another friend of mine told me that some of the evo motors had o-rings that leaked a lot.. which motors should i go with? version5++

The engine itself shouldn't be a huge problem (though probably somewhat costly despite your friend's shop doing the labor), but the AWD drivetrain will be extremely difficult to do. Check Lan Evo's signature for a bit more information. Words of warning though: Be prepared for a costly undertaking.

 

Based on your username, why don't you get a 240SX (S13 or S14) for a SR20DET swap??? It would be an easier swap as compared to a Sti motor swap for Impreza 2.5RS OR 4G63 AWD Swap for the Mirage...
