Congrats!

Congrats! I came from the same car. How do you like it? What mods do plan to get first?

It's different, my first turbo car so I need to learn how to shift smoother when
in boost. Handling on the Evo is great, but seems like the S2 was more solid.
I really need to get use to the shifting, strokes are long compare to the S2
as you may know. Overall I'm very happy.

First couple of mods i'm looking into is,

Timer...hate waiting for the turbo to cool down.
BoV...I really want the swoosh...without compromising the drivalbility.
Exhuast/intake...

These will be my first. You have any advice?

welcome. I just did the reverse. I needed a beater while the evo is in the shop so I just got an '02 s2k. Not a bad little car I must say, but after a day or two in it I really start missing the Evo. While the Evo is fun no matter what kind of driving I am doing, freeway commute, mountain, drag, road race etc. the Honda is really only fun when it is turning so as a commuter it's pretty boring. I bet it would be awesome on a road course though.

Thanks,

Both great cars...just special in their own ways.
Lets put it this way.

I wanted a car that can perform the same or better then the S2, but I needed
a year round car with extra seats. So I chose the Evo. I did not like the way
the Sti felt in handling department, but the pick up on the Sti is very smooth
compare to the Evo. I'm a diehard Honda fan and only owned Honda's for
a long time. My first Mitsu and I hope it'll be a great one.

same here. even though I love my evo. I still love hondas. I modified my evo fairly well and my next project is my 95 hatch. I am considering a k20a2top/k24bottom swap. I hear with simple bolt ons, this combo is doing high 12s, low 13s. it would be nice to get a s2k but since I have kids I could bring them along in my evo or hatch.

Start the Mods man. Evo on more than 20psi is a great feeling. You will see how fast traffic comes up.

I always believed that if Honda really wanted the S2 to perform to it's max
they would have made it a coupe instead a convertible. If money is an issue
then one can say hooking up a used car and mod it to beat an Evo for a fraction
of the cost of an Evo.

Thanks,

Mike

Your missing my point, honda charges too much money for the performance that you get out of the factory. andbody can buy a $5000 car, put 20k into it and run 10's. having the money is not a issue, its spending it on a car that can't perform like let say...an Evo

Buddy of mine had a 92 or 93 hatch and did a gsr swap with basic bolt on. He ran
in the high 12's..His car was pretty much all gutted out though..

I wish I could afford to keep both, missing my S2, but loving my Evo.

Sorry, but it does seem like money is an issue or maybe you don't like Honda's.
If your comparing car's and price then you can also argue 350 Z's, Z4's, SLK's, and etc..etc...can't match the price and performance of an Evo. Again, I hear ppl out
there saying Evo's are overpriced compared to a SRT with Mopar upgrades and
Kill's Evo's performance. We all love our cars, I don't need justify to other's why
I love my car.
