pedal is so far out.
You must have really short legs... my problem is that the clutch pedal is way too close if I adjust the seat so I can firmly grab the steering wheel.Originally Posted by SpoonEvo
Yes..it is much more comfortable, just feels weird sitting so high. Also, the clutchpedal is so far out.
I was looking for the steering wheel extender since it's not telescopic but didn't find any bolt-ons

I had two S2000's prior to the EVO and must say I am not feeling anything like a tractor trailer, the evo pulls 1000% better and mods are a lot cheaper and more productive as well. You also have better brakes and less chance of breaking drivetrain that the S2000's were prone too.

When I mention tractor trailer...i meant the seating position, not how the car feels.Originally Posted by 05WhiteEVO8

Evo=awd=better pull stronger.
Again...I'm talking about seating positions...not performance.

I've been told that i have short legs only becuase my third one is much longer. Originally Posted by SoR

When I said the clutch is so far out, I meant very close.

i used to own a honda prelude, so i know what you are talking about. i feel much more comfortable sitting up on the evo than sitting way down on the floor like that.Originally Posted by SpoonEvo
I always knew the little was there. It's not that. If you ever driven an S2, you basically sitting on the floor and when you clutch in you step foward. On the Evo is like stepping down on the clutch. I guess I need a little getting use to.

I felt the biggest difference was the way the car feels going through the turns. The center of gravity is higher on the EVO and it sends an initial message to the driver that it won't grip as well as the S2K. Once you get into the curve you realize it actually has more grip.
The power delivery is completely different than the S2K. Tons of torque delivered low in the rev range and peak power at mid revs. The honda has a motorcycle engine, no torque and peaky power.
Overall, the EVO is a better performance car. The S2K is a better sports car.

Glad you now own an Evo but it's not the AWD that is pulling harder, it is the rather large difference in H.P. Evo=more h.p.Originally Posted by SpoonEvo

The EVO has the seating PLACEMENT of a non-performance car, IE you aren't sitting on the floorpan. I'm totally used to it until I drive in an RX7 or Corvette or something like that, then get back in my car. It feels like I'm driving way up high for a little while. It's not a diss and everything works fine, and after you are used to it it's fine. The guy was just saying it feels awkward sitting up so high relative to the floorboard.

So ur saying the awd part is not helping putting the power into the ground?Originally Posted by AustinEVO

I don't think it's the peak HP. The S2000 actually has almost the same weight-to-hp ratio. Maybe it's the torque or a more usable power band? I don't think 0.15lb/hp is significant enough to feel.Originally Posted by AustinEVO

S2000: 2835lbs/240hp, ratio = 11.81 lbs for every 1 hp
EVO: 3219lbs/276hp, ratio = 11.66 lbs for every 1 hp

more usable power band. boost kicks in at 3k in evo and hits peak at around 6k. i'm guessing that 240hp rating for the S2000 is achieved somewhere near 8-9k?Originally Posted by machron1
