Gonna hopefully buy an Evo tomorrow!

I have been a long time lurker here at and I think I finally made my decicion that I want to get an Evo. I'm going out to the dealership tomorrow to get a quote and hopefully buy one tomorrow.

Does any one have any pointers or suggestions for me to get the best deal or just any pointers for the process?

Looking at carsdirect.com the target price for my area is $32250.

I also am a recent grad so I should also get $500 off right?

I just thought it is a great time to buy an evo with all the incentives available.

on their site it says that you don't get the $500 on the evo. i just graduated too and should be signing the papers tomorrow for an electric blue with the SSL package. my price with 0% was $31850 + ttl. good luck

Is that the price after the $1000 cash incentive?

i dont believe so, they originally had it at $30,850 but that was with the 1000 cash instead of the 0%. with the 0% it was $31850. i dont know what other kind of rebates they have though as a dealership that they can use to play with the price but there isn't the customer cash 1000 rebate

So where on the mitsu website does it say I don't get the grad rebate? I looked and for the life of me I can't find it.

BTW I went to the dealership today and find that they only have a demo yellow evo w/ssl there and they couldn't get me any other color. I'm bummed because yellow was the only color that I didn't want.

Well, I found another dealership 6 hours away that has a EB Evo w/SSL that I will talk to tommorrow morning about getting one there. They seem to be very receptive to the $31250 price that I asked for. The guy did say that I could get either 0% financing or the $1000 customer rebate. But he said I could get the $500 grad rebate.

So I guess this is what I'm looking at,

$32,250 - $1,000 customer rebate - $500 grad = $30750

or

$32,250 with 0% financing -$500 grad rebate = $31,750

What do you think about this deal? I have looked at what others have said they have paid but I'm still confused if they are including their $1,000 rebate in their statements. Some say as little as $31,000.

One bad thing is that I'm gonna have to pay for bus trip down there and then hopefully not have to get a hotel and also have to add miles to the brand new car. But hey I'll probably love it all the way back home.

i'm guessing that's with the rebate and not the 0%, but if you're planning to finance the entire car, or most of it, for more than 2 years or so the 0% will save you more money. if you have a large down payment or are planning to finance for a shorter term then the $1000 will save you more

Well I'm kinda stuck. The dealership that I talked to told me that I could get the grad rebate and now he says he can't. So the price that he would sell it to me for is $31,750. This is after he told me he could get me a price of $31250. I don't really know what to do. I know it isn't alot of money compared to the amount of the car but I want to get a really good deal if I am going to drive 350 miles to pick it up. Oh well...I probably need to wait until I get a house with a garage before getting an Evo.

$500 below invoice and 0% financing sounds like a pretty good deal to me

yeah, i'd take the 0% over the $1000 rebate. cause you'd save thousands in the long run.
