+1. If you're not boosting crazy numbers this is all you need. Period. End of thread.

but if you must use aftermarket bov on a otherwise mostly stock boosting evo , you should recirculate...I believe you can buy a recirc kit for the HKS bov too, so you probably don't have to get rid of it...

The difference is it makes your car run properly. You cannot VTA with a MAF, which our cars have.

wow, more and more evo guys keep showing up caring more about the sound of their bov than the quality of it, thats just ridiculous, maybe they should make this car more expensive so when i get one it wont have so many young ricers riding it...

The only one you'll pay $100 for is the MR DV. It will not have any special sound. You wouldn't hear at all normally, but you have the Injen, so you'll hear it purge. Unfortunately, sound "quality" should not be a deciding factor when getting a BOV, nor should it be a factor when purchasing an intake, but I see you already got the Injen, which typically makes you slower than stock without a tune.

Not to hijack this thread, but I have the JDM MR BOV and I'm getting flutter! I hate it too!! What could be causing this? When it was installed, I was told the guy "crushed" something. I think it's supposed to help with something or other, but could this be causing the fluttering?

To be as slow as a neon str4 but sound like one.

At least the car will handle good, maybe understeer will stop w/t the torque decrease

oh c'mon get off your high horses people, who doesn't want a cool sounding P-shaw! with their turbo car. I agree the BOV needs to work properly but what's wrong with having it sound cool at the same time? With that in mind what do you guys recommend for this guy? do the VTA and APS recirc ones sounds more agressive/louder than stock? say the stock is a 1 on a scale of 1-10, where do these compare?

Hmm, yeah, you should have no flutter with the JDM MR DV, and it should not have been crushed. You have to crush old 1g BOVs in order for them to hold 20psi or more, because they only hold about 16 stock. Like the 1G, the MR DV is metal, but it is not to be crushed. Go look at it and see if the top has been crushed down so that the nipple is resting against the top instead of there being a noticeable space.

I'm ditching my HKS SSQ soon... I'm really looking into the new greddy RS bov, I heard it has a nice sound plus holds the boost.. best thing of all I can ditch my FN v-t-a set up. And no, I'm not recirculating my HKS, it's on the upper IC pipe so I'm pretty sure it's not going to work that way (version 2 can't be recirculated).
