Evo IX or MR

I was looking at the evo IX and was wondering what most people are getting in terms of either the IX or the MR

MR is like 5 g's more but im not sure what exactly more it comes with except for a six speed

the IX seems cost efficient while at the same time you get the same amount of hp and tq

i also love to death the electric blue color of the IX

what would be smartest to get?

o yeah, im new, im usually at the iwsti forums but have slowly creeping move over here

hi guys. nice to meet you.

are u serious?
the Evo IX comes in three "trims"
Evo IX GSR
Evo IX RS
Evo IX MR
they're all the same IX, just different things done to them, so your post is pointless, because the IX is the IX, you'd be payng 5k extra for the MR to get:
1. 6-speed transmission
2. HIDs
3. Extensive aero work on roof, etc.
4. Light weight Roof
5. Lightweight rims
6. Gauge pack
7. Cool little MR decal next to the shifter
8. Cool shift knob
9. Cool little MR decal on trunk
10. And the security knowing you're driving a "limited edition" limited edition 4-door 4-banger with lots o' grunt to boot. . .

no ones quote is pointless give the guy a break...we know all about the evo because we're current owners..at least 10 times a day regular people asking and talking about my car make incorrect statements or have questions which would be obvious to me that doesnt mean they're idiots it means i spend basically 3 hours a day learning more about the evo while it remains a mystery to many people who have not had the same privelege as us..i like how you did give him the differences but theres no need to be rude and possibly disparage him from joining our community

In addition to what Shivaswrath said, you can supposedly get the IX MR in Electric Blue according to the brochure...

burningmoney-that's why I used the quotes, I know the MR isn't LE anymore. . .
other dude-wasn't meant to be disparaging, it's just pretty basic, that's all. . .doesn't take 3 hours to figure out that the MR has such huge differences, it's on the Mitsu website! It took me 15 minutes to figure out all the package differences when I looked into an Evo earlier this year. . .

hey thanks for the info and as in terms of GSR, RS, and MR- i didn't know that.

i just used the information off "Build & Price" option on mitsu's website- they just gave the "RS, IX, and MR" option

i guess im asking about the MR in the sense that if its worth the extra 5k

MR does not come in electric blue.

If you are asking if it is worth it, then it is not to you. Not trying to sound like an ***.

RS...IX...MR? Different strokes for different folks. I purchased the IX because thats the one i wanted. I dont care for the 6sp, or the extra goodies that the MR comes with so i couldnt justify paying the premium for it. IMO the MR is not worth all that extra money ...then again, the people who purchased the RS dont think the IX is worth the extra money either...or they simply dont care for the ABS, power windows/locks...wing...etc. Oh yah, color becomes an issue also, not all models come with every color option. Its all really the same sh*t...so simply put, get the one that fits you.
