2005 tranmission
I've been doing some searching and reading and have noticed that Evos have transmission problems. My car only has 1000 miles on it and shifting was always notchy from the day I got it. It usually doesn't go in smooth from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd. It could be that the car is still new and needs time to break in before this goes away. I'm just wondering if it is normal that the tranny is smooth going into gear. By the way I followed the break in period so I never took the car over 5k rpms until two days ago when I reached 1k miles.
I can usually hear like a clunk when I shift from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd. I noticed that my friends STI makes the same noise when he shifts also so it could be normal. My previous car(00 SI) didn't make any noises when I shift so I was expecting the same from this car.

Im pretty sure most EVOs do that, mine did, and I also made a post about it, change my tranny fluids, removed restrictor, SS clutch line, adjusts pedal, etc. and nothing fixed it
BUT last week when I hit a little over 9K miles, I notice that the notchyness of the 1-2 & 2-3 shifts went away by 80-90%.

they all do it....no such thing as butter smooth with the the evo..you wanted butter should have bought a benz. Your car is fine..get use to it as well as all the other noises...got squeeky brakes yet..if not they are coming...this is what happens when you buy basically a racecar off the showroom floor. go have fun and stop worring!!!
I have an 05 with 1050 miles on it and i have the notch in 1st to 2nd but not as bad in 2nd to 3rd,
Also believe there will be a difference in drivetrain noise going from front wheel drive civic to all wheel drive evo
