Ok, well they say they only take the highest offense and add that to my record in maryland, but my license is from Texas and we don't have a point system. They simply take your license when you go to court but since I'm going to court in Maryland it won't get taken and the only thing if it even does show up is going to be the Reckless. I talked to a lawyer and he says 1500 and it all goes away. Don't know how much truth there is to that but he sounds like he knows somebody lol. I am normally a real calm driver quite honestly and am the first to jump on people who race in public but I had my moment of stupidity and that's just it. The cop was really concerned about if I was going to take it to court or not (he asked me 5 times) and he sounded kind of nervous so we'll see.

i would guess that the cop would make it to court but i think that midnight can get the majority of his tickets reduced or thrown out with a decent lawyer

if he really did rev at you first and start the race, or so to speak, that could be viewed as entrapment... i've heard stories like it

I would think police officers would give a soldier some slack.

I have been baited by those same cops, once in MD, and once on route 66 near Vienna VA. Get a lawer take it to court, press the entrapment issue I suppose.

As a side note, a honda civic was behind me while the cop tried to get me to race...well I guess he didn't notice it was a cop and flew by us after I refused to speed...the civic got pulled over

If you still have a license good luck on insurance. If the lawyer takes it all away for 1500 i would do it, but if they leave the wreckless driving, and if you have previous tickets, your insurance could be nuts. IDK how old you are etc, but if it was me i couldnt afford it.

I got a lawyer now, former cop says he's dealt with this before. 750.00 and I don't have to show my face in MD again.

If you never plan going to Md again, do you still need to pay?

Last time a cop did that to me he flipped on the lights at 80 he fell out of my mirror after 160.

lucky you because in about 99% of police chases, they catch you. they have this fancy thing called a two-way radio and like to call their other buddies farther down the road for some assistance

and i have yet to see a car run past the miles-long vision of a helicopter

guess B Man is lucky to have squeezed into that 1% then oh and a two way radio won't do much if you can't see the car (did he turn left, right, go straight? If you see that car again how will you know it is that exact car?). And choppers take time to get to the car from where they are. But if a cop can keep up to you, yes he can radio and get choppers and all those fancy hoodads. Not to say B Man isn't BSing anyway though.
