U only got one chance, ppl said this: ENTRAPMENT

In this first place, why would u race if u knew it was a COP?!?!?!

you won't ever see a import car disguised as an unmarked cop car but i have seen a canadian STi police car, which was pretty cool IMO
and from what i hear about cops who drive unmarked cars, they follow a pretty simple plan: They cruise on the highway at 90 mph and if anybody passes them- then they pull them over

I can show you an import police car. There is a Heavily modified Honda Civic that goes to the local friday night street racing areas in Albuquerque to bust people, and it is FAST. It has to be fast enough to catch some of those cars out there pushing major horsepower. They roll around provoking people into races at the lights and then as soon as you top out or start to slow down they bust you at the highest speed possible.
Kinda had the same thing happen to me last March.......Passed a mustang that was in the fast lane in my GSX. I was going about 90 at the time posted limit was 65. He must have taken the pass as a pimp and then once I was in the fast lane he passed me going about 100. I am an idiot so we start racing through traffic via all lanes. Speeds sometimes reaching 130. I pay no attention to the traffic that we are zooming by because....well we are hauling **** and I have a fuzz buster. At some point we get backed up in traffic and I notice a fella next to me pointing at me. Oh crap its an unmarked. He has me roll down the window and tells me to follow him. About two miles up the mustang is pulled over by a marked traffic natzi. Several minutes later there are 5 troopers on the scene and two lanes of the 5 are shut down. The officer asks me what I was doing. I just tell him I'm an idiot and ask him if I will need someone to come get my car. He says sit tight.
In the end I get a racing ticket out of the deal. I go to court in hopes of getting it reduced but the assistant DA says "I have read the report and feel you are lucky to only be getting a racing ticket. You could be charged with attempted vehicular manslaughter".
I figure whatever no big deal and pay the ticket $385. Two months later my insurance raises my rates $200 every six months. As it turns out, Racing is a major violation just like DUI/OWI, hit and run, eluding an officer. Major violations stay on your record for 5 years. So it would have been well worth the price of a lawyer to go to court and attempt to get it reduced to a non-major offense.
If I had gotten all the tickets you received there would be not question......
Get a lawyer and a jury trial.

Yep, i live in MD and cops are using camero's/mustangs.
I got caught racing on a highway (following too close, speeding, etc)when i was in high school in 1997. My buddies last name was alphabetically before mine and he had a lawyer. Because his lawyer got him off, i was off as well.
I swore i was going to loose my license. Good luck.
I was just at the court house in MD for speeding in my civic.
COPS= slow down

People are feeling sorry for this kid? Knew it was a police car and sped up to 140mph? If the story is actually how you say it is, im all on the cops side on this one. Go ahead, get a lawyer, spend a grand, they'll drop a few tickets, you'll still lose your liscence and your insurance will be insane for a few years.
*edit*, this thread is old, so maybe he's gotten it taken care of by now?

Man, talk about a rock and a hard place.
I didn't see...did you say how old you are? Remember that everything that goes on your record will stay there for quite sometime and insurance is already expensive enough! Even if the lawyer charges a sum near what you would pay for the tickets at least you may get some of those droped and in turn pay a little less over the years! Every $50 your insurance gets boosted is $1,800.00 over 3 years!!
your post was in November..How much longer till your court date? BTW, you should dig this thread up when all is said and done and post the outcome. I would be courious!

Aren't you the guy that just reposted a repost of a repost in the "Evo General" forum for the Lambo vs. Evo? You shouldn't be one to talk about who gives who a bad name. I'm sure some would even suggest you, Zsport, give newbies a bad name? Not to be a Dic or anything, but if you don't want your posts getting bashed on like they are in the "General" as i type this, be more aware of the "search" function next time.
