IX MR...which intake

I have 2100 miles on my IX MR now and decided to start modding. Which intake works the best w/o doing a reflash? I'm leaning towards an HKS Racing Suction......

Thanks!

IMO I would spend money elsewhere. But if you really, really want something consider a Works or K&N drop in filter.

-suspension, if you have the money get a great set of coilovers and get rid of those bilsteins you paid so much for for an MR, lol
you can buy a new rear strut bar,or a upgraded rear sway bar..

-exhaust system, do a search
-gauges

cat delete, MBC or a flash with boost control. But get a boost gauge first.

this is what you need:

Boost Gauge
MBC (21PSI)
3" Downpipe
3" Test Pipe
3" Catback....

wasn't this for an intake thread, gees! well imo, go with the hks rs intake its one of the best there is. i have one on my mr myself. no problems what so ever, great idle also. the bilstein are fine. you'll never find a ride as comfy as it and handles like it to. i have the hks hipermax2 and hates the ride on it when i drive to work everyday (bumpy and noisy). i'm planning to get rid of them also and put back my bilstiens. pm me if anyone interested. it has about 6k on it.

Have you done anything else to your car besides the intake and the suspension?

Any flash will work. I personally use DynoFlash, and as you can see in my sig, I am now sponsored by DynoFlash. With a basic mail-in flash (not even a street or dyno tune), I was able to go 12.26 in the 1/4-mile with basic mods (exhaust, mbc, tune). With race gas, I went 12.000. I did all of this without an expensive intake, which isn't worth the money until much later in the modding process. What's scary is your IX is capable of doing even BETTER than my 05, so you're in for a treat.

My suggestions would be:

1) 3" TBE
2) MBC+gauge
3) Flash of your choice
4) Fuel Pump if you get the flash

The first 2 will provide gains without needing a flash, but a flash will give you great power gains through the entire powerband with or without other mods.

warrtalon, since this is the newb forum, i don't feel quite as stupid asking this. if money was no object, which 3" TBE would you buy assuming you wanted the power gains but not a ton of extra noise?
