If you know all the updates, well then you should be able to answer this.
I personally liked the front on the 9 better and the new mivec/turbo set up.
I could of walked out with a smokin deal on a 05. But alas I didn't because I liked the
way the 9 is much more. Not to mention, the 8 tails/headlights are brutally hideous.

That's my personal opinion. It's all in what you want and what's important to you if you're spending this amount of cash.

HELLZ yea... performance wise. U jus get a flash and tbe. Ur making 300 to the wheels!!!. ON an VIII, u need more extra stuff.

Thats why its called Evolution= upgrading to the latest technology that surpases the last one.

Though if ur gettin a killer deal on VIII, and with that money can get "watever u desire" on the VIII that basically is the IX. I would get the VIII

Personally get the IX, larger turbo, MIVEC, new front look and stock rims look better than the VIII. Its all on u

They cost just about the same. The MSRP is only $500 more for a IX, so I definitely think the extras are worth it. If you're talking about the difference in price between a new 05 that is already over a year old and a IX that is 100% brand new, then you need to consider the huge value drop the 05 will have if you buy it now. Yeah, it may cost you 5k less, but the moment you drive it off the lot, it not only takes the standard depreciation loss, but also takes another full year of depreciation.

i went with an MR for 29k (slightly used) walkout over waiting on a 9. I'm very happy with my decision.

Yes, as long as it's brand new. Just realize it won't be as good as a IX unless you upgrade the turbo in case that matters to you.

My 06 is hands down a better car than my 05. You get a bunch of little upgrades that are easily worth 500 more on the sticker. Now if you are planning on buying a used 05, well now you are comparing a used car vs new and my answer is still buy the 06. If the money you are saving on buying a used evo is what is going to make or break the deal you probably shouldn't be buying an evo at all. You won't be disappointed with either, but you'll probably regret buying the 8 in the long run.
