Greetings from a non-EVO owner
Hello! After lurking for awhile I finally registered. I am currently driving a black 2003 350Z Track and loving it.
However, my wife is a 4th-year medical student and will probably end up getting Residency somewhere where I'll either need to get a winter-beater or something AWD.
I can't imagine garaging my car for months at a time...hence, my love of the EVO.
This site has been great for info. I got the Z without doing much research...one test drive and I was sold. At least if I have to go with an EVO I'll be informed.
I'm here because I like the EVO, not to flame or spam the forums. And if anyone is in the Portland, OR area and wants to chat and grab a beer sometime, that'd be cool.

The Evo will serve your purpose, but only if you buy a set of winter tires, so keep that in mind. The other alternative would be all-seasons that you use year-round, but then you'd have less handling/traction on the dry days. I use an entire second set of rims with Blizzaks for the Winter and then my stock BBS rims with stock Advans for the rest of the year. Also, during the non-Winter months, I put R-compounds on the extra rims for racing purposes. It's a great combination, but it's also a significant extra expense on top of the Evo itself.

Thanks, that's a really good point I hadn't really considered. Although I'm sure I can probably convince my wife that a 2nd set of rims/tires is cheaper than buying a winter beater.

I agree, a set of rims/tires is less expensive than a beater car. My combo of rims and race tires was only $1200, then another $150 for used Blizzaks.
