Well what do you want people to do, assume hes not like the majority of teenagers? I'm sorry but that would be useless and would only result in people getting hurt. It's far safer to assume he's wreckless and irresponsible and give him the correlating advice as opposed to tell him to go out, get his parents to buy the evo and immediately begin driving it like a racer.
As for my last comment, have you looked around recently? Intelligence is indeed a genetic trait (along with everything else), so from a technical standpoint eugenics would work. What I'm talking about are the people who earn 10000$ a year but still insist on having 8 kids or the parents who think that buying their kids stuff is the way to raise them. I've talked to the next generation, and I'm not impressed. Oh and it was actually intended as a sarcastic comment, not something to discuss.

I understand what your saying, but you could at least give him a chance. On the other hand, whatever we say on this website really won't change the outcome of what he will buy. So, in reality, we are both waisting our time. He is thousands of miles away, and I am pretty sure he won't listen to random people's comments who he has never met.

Thought so, you seem way too smart to believe that there actually is a "dumb gene."

At the same time I based my opinion on the information he gave me, hes 15 and his parents are actually considering buying him a sports car. I agree that in all likeliness hes not even listening to the people who say its a bad idea, I was the same way when I was his age. 9 times out of 10 though the "other people" were right and I quickly got a swift kick in the *** by my own stupidity and cockiness. In regards to the "dumb gene", its still in the "as far as we know" category, considering they've found a monogamy gene and a theology gene, a dumb gene might not be very far away.

1981- 1.8 corolla,4spd, over 270K on the clock not a single oil leak or repairs.
13 years with the car between my friend(2nd owner) and now me.
we beat the **** out of it.... EVERYDAY! (work car)

Also, have you seen $$$ for new/used 80s toyota parts? you could get them from walgreens here in Orlando

gas: I go to work and drive for 14 to 16 days with $17 on fuel (heavy foot-stop n go)

coverage (for me>37): $193 a year

carb: "has never been touched" i have all records from 1st owner

oh I cant remember what I paid my friend for it,,$300/$400? one of those two

It's a sports car. Why buy a sports car if you are not going to go fast. Civic Si or Scion are both nice cars and good to learn on. When you are that young and inexperienced your parents are crazy to hand you a car such as the evo.
btw.. for those bragging about not getting a speeding ticket; it is honestly nothing to brag about. Keep your eyes open watching for cops in all directions and if the cars in front of you brake for no apparent reason it is probably a cop. Or you could be lazy and just a get V1 radar detector + Lidatek laser jammer

How to show him its a good car

Any suggestions
dude lay off ur dad. what u need to do is save ur money and get the car urself that way u can take pride in it. if ur dad buys u the car, and u crash it, then u wont appreciates it. my recommendation, get a beater thats manual and practice on it first, then get the evo. ur 15, no offense, but the only reason u wanted to get the evo is to wow people at school. i have a younger brother and sister that i taught how to drive manual and they werent allow to drive manual by themselves for months because i needed to feel and know that they are ready for it. just my opinion.
