Except you think the 7" touchscreen in an Evo is stupid, and I think it's cool

In the USA. Not the case in other markets. Not that it's here or there.

The SLK280 has a 3L motor so he's going to have more of that torque on tap for the first few thousand RPM's in 1st gear. This is not better or worse but simply different and factual. That's more what I was getting at: does he know and he is OK with the different driving style a turbo car requires to get the numeric performance. For example there are many folks who could never be comfortable driving a high-strung NA car like an S2000 because they have it ingrained that it's not "healthy" to rev the car there.

Well if that's the case, then we should be talking about the UK model Evos, particularly the FQ models, which are, in fact, suped [sic] versions.

Testosterone: Here's a good website that breaks down simple yet effective mods to the Evo. It basically explains what each does. Rest assured that a well modded Evo will make short work of most cars on the road and track. Here you go:

2. That's good, but it kind of seems like a little more comprehension would help too.

3. Mildly modded Evos are in the low 4's, if not even lower. Stock = 4.7 or so. As far as living without the "torque" you have now: the slk280 has a whopping 221lb/ft at 5000(!)rpms. Even a stock Evo is significantly more. My 2003 started stock with 276...

4. You are talking about modded Evos originally (or as you say "suped") and the thread and info you refer to is talking about stock v. stock.

5. Again with the comprehension. If someone posted info about the "XI", it was a joke. The IX is out now, the X is next. Roman numerals and all...

You are not insulting anyone, and hopefully nobody is truly insulting you, but the things you are saying are all over the map, and I think people are just trying to understand.
Thank you for your post. I guess I misunderstood the thread then, as it was talking about stock evos.

No, the SLK 280 is not the entry level. The entry level is the 200. The price difference between your quote and mine is due to the difference in locations. Cars are cheaper in the U.S. than in the Middle East, unfortunately.

Someone mentioned the XI when they were saying that they wouldn't buy the X originally since it is brand new and they would wait until any problems were sorted out and the better newer model (XI) came out. God knows, maybe I misunderstood this too.

Again, thank you for your post. Believe it or not, I am learning a lot here (which would be impossible not to do since I know near nothing), and I really appreciate like this forum, minus the random attacks.

Once and for all, I am sorry for the s*** up phrase. I meant modify.

I was replying to a post from someone asking if I was willing to give up havent the ease of driving with the torque on my car only really kicking in at 3,000 RPM.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
